Sakura doesn't look that big from the street, but it actually has plenty of seating. The menu has a large variety of dishes available -- almost too many to choose from. Your eyes will be bigger than your stomach. Combo entrees are really delicious.

Thank you to all the TA reviews ahead of me. After reading all the great reviews I thought I’d take a chance and take my daughter here before a concert. The food and service was amazing. Great sushi, super fast service and loved the fried...More
Last night my son treated us to an anniversary dinner at Sakura Japanese Restaurant in downtown Saint Paul, MN. What a treat! Because it was a Monday evening on a snowy, sleety evening, the place was not overcrowded so we had a leisurely meal of...More
If you want a wonderful Japanese dinner in the Twin Cities, go to Sakura in St. Paul Minnesota! (You can take the Green Line Train.) Sakura is clearly a popular place - when we entered, we thought it was just a dozen or so tables...More

It's hard to be this consistent, but this place just never misses. We hadn't been here in a while, and we are so glad we came back! Nice restaurant, friendly staff, efficient staff, and good food, what more do you want? Sushi, Shabu Shabu, all...More
The restaurant used to have a very authentic Japanese look and feel. We felt transported back to a Japan that we remembered. They have since updated the decor to attract millennials, logically, but the food and service are still just as good. And in fairness,...More
We really enjoyed the shushi menu & the soups. One guest got an entree and didn't totally care for it--but don't let that make your judgement. They surprisingly had super delicious wines! Don't judge the place by the looks. The servers don't dress professionally-- they...More
Never a bad meal here, this is our first choice to go to before a Wild game or concert at the Xcel. Outstanding service.
When this "Asian Bistro" restaurant replaced what was there, I had my doubts due to the title. But it's very, very good! The chefs make a real effort to make the dishes attractive as well as tasty and they get it to your table without...More
