We were introduced to this place on our second visit to Twin Cities, now we brought the younger one. He defeated a small malt by himself, so betting on sharing and trying the many different flavors didn't work.

My son and I stopped in for a quick dinner on our way to swimming class. We were seated within 10 minutes. I had black bean enchiladas which were pretty good. My son had a grilled cheese but we each had malts and those were delicious!

Always have had great food at malt shop. Past year or so, it oddly went downhill. Weird. Malts still spot on but also see lack of diners? Hope this changes as long time malt shop fans!

Ended up at the Malt Shop after our first pick was super busy. It was a comfortable, friendly spot with many different menu choices and a friendly staff. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but wasn't disappointed either.

I would have rated the malt a solid 4, but the food was a 3. It was a fun diner with live piano music. Stay in the open area (feels like a patio) because the piano music can be loud in the main dining area. You can watch how they make malts I had the spinach and mushroom lasagna. A... More

I was back home visiting and we decided to go to an old favorite, The Malt shop. My table mate was taken aback when I ordered the black bean burger (there may have been a malt as well). It was the best black bean burger I have ever had. They're usually so mushy and just taste like mashed black beans.... More

Malts. Yum. Thick, flavorful and huge. You know when you get the silver container with the malt you got the real deal. Excellent service. Friendly, efficient and just good. Split a Wild Rice Burger since we really came for the malt. Burger served on separate plates with huge servings of fries. No extra charge. Malts: Blueberry and Hot Fudge. Both... More

The malt shop has wonderful, creamy malts and shakes which seasonal fruits can be added. The sandwiches are tasty as well.

The Malt Shop has been here since 1973 for good reasons. Their malts are terrific. Also, good sandwiches for kids, and good food for adults. (grilled cheese and fruit for a 7 year old, enchillata for the old guy. But the real reason to come here are the malts & shakes.

We love 5 star reviews and especially when they come from folks who have been dining with us for the past 40+ years and now bring the grandkids along. Nothing makes us happier than seeing multi-generational families in our dining room. Thanks a lot. Dick Henke Owner More
