The accordion player is fabulous! They've remodeled in the past year ... and lost some charm (it feels more trendy bar than old German restaurant now), but still a fun place. Our food was good, the service was as expected and our group had a FABULOUS time. We wished we'd known that the polka band is only there on Saturday... More

The Gasthof is definitely worth a try. We ordered one of the combination platters for two and there was enough food for four. For the most part the food was tasty yet maybe a little bland. Perhaps more gravy needed. Lots of tap beers. Crowd got to singing making for a fun atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. Accordion player... More

You should plan on spending about $30/person here, depending upon how much you drink. (We don't drink, but we do eat a lot.) The atmosphere is fun -- love the accordion music -- and when we go there on our triplets' birthdays, they are always very sweet to us there! We absolutely love the food and come away stuffed. So,... Had booked for our group coming in from LA - many were skeptical thinking about other choices. Ultimately, we had a blast! Beer selection was great - we ordered a "Boot" of beer and played the drinking game. The food was very authentic and very good. I shared one of the combination platters with a friend - Schnitzel, sauerbraten, spaetzel,... More

We took my Dad here for his birthday this year and were so glad we did! It was a new experience for our whole group and the staff made it a fun one! We had the BAYERISCHE HAUSPLATTE - (BAVARIAN HOUSE PLATTER) For Two. My favorite was the Beef Rouladen and the Bratwurst of course! This platter was huge and... More

We have never been to Gasthof's before, and it was an unforgettable experience! We were celebrating my mother's 80th Birthday and wanted to treat her to our family heritage and it did not disappoint!! Our waitress was awesome and the gentleman that played the accordion made the atmosphere. We had their family style platters, and let's just say we brought... More

The food was very traditional (I used to live in Germany) but the prices were very high. I ordered fish in their house white sauce and found it to be bland. I can cook better fish dishes on my own , for much less than $30 a plate. The atmosphere was nice, though, and the beer variety was ample.

I was looking forward to have a meal as I am a longer period away from home. I ordered the Sauerbraten mit Rotkohl. It was very disappointed especially as they write on the menu that this an old recipe, so I was expecting that they know what they are preparing. The meat has not been marinated in vinegar for a... Gasthof (for short) is a German Bierhall in Nordeast Minneapolis. If you show up their at right (or wrong) time, expect to see several students drinking plenty o' bier and shots of real 151-proof German Schnapz. It can get a little rowdy in there.

We went here for an authentic German dinner. We order one of the platters for 2 people. We were very surprised how much food was there. That could have fed 4 people! Food was excellent!! On top of the food, it was Octoberfest and we had a blast! The band that was performing outside was great. Tradition polka/German music. The... More
