I ate at the Cedars Dining room at The Sawmill Inn during a road trip from Boston to Montana. Was very pleased to be able to order a high quality meal containing local foods unique to the area. The walleye breaded with cracker crumbs was...More

While travelling through northern Minnesota we spent the night at a neighboring motel a two-minute walk from the Cedars. Based on the recommendation of the motel receptionist ("It's great!"), we had dinner at the Cedars. The receptionist did not lead us astray. The meal was...More

Very disappointed with the French onion soup l ordered. It was cooked onions in a salty brown gravy, not what I classify as French onion soup.

The dining room is comfortable, the cook is experienced and takes great pride in the dishes presented. The overall atmosphere is low key and welcoming. Try anything from the menu, but the Dover is exceptional!

When my family wants to go out for a "nice" dinner, we always choose this restaurant. They have excellent food-I highly recommend the pork chop. It's a cozy atmosphere that even my kids enjoy.

I had to send my steak back 3 times until it was medium rare. Maybe it was a new cook. Usually they get it right the first time. They do aim to please.
