On Thursday I took a party of 17 people for lunch at The Red Lion, Southwick. The manager asked in advance for a list of what people wanted for their main course and I was very impressed with just how organised and slick the delivery of the meals turned out. We had a slight issue with one meal, but the... More

Such a nice place to visit, friendly staff and excellent food. Everyone in our party ate different meals from the menu and all of us agreed that the food was of a high standard. We will definitely return for future visits.

Visited the Red Lion last evening with friends. Excellent evening and I cannot recommend the chocolate torte highly enough. Try it. It's fab!

We are becoming quite the regulars at The Red Lion. We really enjoy the atmosphere and food which is all homemade. We are slowly making our way through the menu. The Sunday roasts are gorgeous and the homemade burgers are so filling with plenty to choose from! We love just popping in for a drink and enjoy the quiz nights... More

First visit to the Red Lion, which is halfway between us and our friends. Found the Red Lion online and it sounded really good. However the Moroccan Chicken was devoid of anything Moroccan, although lots of chicken. This was served with plain boiled rice, which didn't help! And no vegetables or the promised haloumi. The cheese soufflé was delicious and... More

£9.50 for ham, eggs and chips ! Two overcooked eggs, a few chips that looked suspiciously like the "oven ready" type and two slices of ham, the quality of which was average. Service was very slow, because the kitchen was "very busy" despite the fact that the place was less than half full! Not an unpleasant experience because the pub... More

I am sorry that you were not happy with your food yesterday. With regards to your ham egg and chips i can assure you that the chips are of the highest quality and are certainly not "oven ready".The Ham is cooked on the premises and we have not had a complaint before. The staff were very busy yesterday as they were... More

Chocolate torte for dessert was sloppy. Was enbarassed for our friends as it had been our recommendation. will not be recommeding

Hi Shelagh, Sorry to hear you were dissapointed when you visited us. I have spoken to our bar manager who was on that particular night, and as you have said you were not charged for the Steak. Occasionally restaurants can have a rogue one! and you were offered a replacement steak, which you declined. However with regards to the rest... More
