The food was good. I got a sandwhich and my girlfriend sandwhich and soup. The soup was not so good but the sandwhiches were delicious. I went back and ordered the peanut butter cup to go, it was delicious.

Since they've expanded, just not the same pie. Ever have fries or fish that were cooked in oil that wasn't the correct temperature? The pies are like that, a little soggy and undercooked for my taste.

Hi Sunny, I'm so sorry to hear that you felt your pie was undercooked. Sometimes our crumb pie appears that way with a cream cheese texture due to the nature of the pie. We would love to discuss your experience and make things right with you if you'd like to give us another chance. Please send me an email at... More

Had a salad and pie. It's fine. Good food actually. About what you would expect for the price. But 5 stars? Best in TC? I don't get that.

Kind of like a northern Michigan version of Panera's, only with a better locations and a commitment to the community. And with lots of amazing pie choices. The salads, sandwhiches, and pot pies are all good. The service is quick. A great spot for the lunch hour, grabbing a bite before a movie at the State Theater, or anytime with... More

When you have to have the VERY BEST pie and are prepared to pay more than grocery store prices, this IS the place.

We ate here twice during the Cherry Festival and were pleasantly surprised with the food quality, the service and the ambiance. Grand Traverse Pie Co. is a bit like a Panera, but the food was better and there's also PIE. The first time we came, I had a Chicken Pot Pie, which was really good, Hubby had the Mediterranean Veggie... More

My mother was a fabulous pie maker but I did not inherit her ability as hard as she tried to teach me. The first time I tried a pie from the Grand Traverse Pie Co. I once again had a pie as good as Moms! Every pie is excellent and it becomes very hard to pick with all the delicious... More

They do a nice lunch here. I don't know if they do breakfast. Their food is fairly simple but very good. It's a great place for a bowl of soup or a sandwich. The portions are not overpowering. Take out is popular as well. I've met my wife here several times and we were usually able to get a table.... More

Description
The original Grand Traverse Pie Company location! Our first Pie Shop opened in July of 1996 by company founders, Mike and Denise Busley. The shop is conveniently located on West Front Street in Traverse City, Michigan, just a short walk from downtown and a block from West Grand Traverse Bay. Our open-air design has the kitchen in full view of our customers. There's comfortable seating for those who would like to sit and relax with a slice of pie and a cup of gourmet coffee. We also have great lunch selections, with quiches, soups, pot pie by the slice, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. We serve espresso, smoothies, and a variety of homemade baked goods.
