I have been a couple times now and just love this place. Atmosphere people food just top notch. Love this place so much I drive 1.5 hrs to get there after church on a Sunday. A must have are their fresh baked muffins, their amazing French toast, and their California scramble. So many options for those who are vegetarian which... More

You must stop here for breakfast! And order the corn pancakes, they're delicious! To avoid a long wait, get there early! And make sure to check the hours! They just open on the weekends. Careful when ordering, if you don't like wasting food maybe sharing a plate will be good. Portions are too big!

It's a typical small town restaurant in many ways, very charming just because it is, not because they try to be. The food is fine, prices are ok, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Really a sweet little place.

Great breakfast spot!!! Very quaint...out door seating available with a beautiful garden and fountain to enjoy while dinning. Really great food...healthy and fresh. Great location in center of downtown. Friendly staff.

We got seated within 10 minutes or so. We put our drink/food order pretty quickly but it took 30-40 minutes for our food to come..and it was breakfast at 11:30. It's not very large so I'm not sure why it took so long. That being said, the food was totally worth it and we all agreed we'd go back

I enjoyed the breakfast. I had the All Day breakfast that came with two basted eggs, three pancakes, and bacon. I enjoyed all of it and the bacon was good. The service was exceptionally slow. We waited over an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. Although our server refilled coffee and water, she didn't really seem to be... More

Tiny place so it is a long wait for a table. We ended up sitting at the counter and the wait for our food was very long too. Saugatuck definitely needs more places that are open for breakfast!

We came to days in a row Ida Reds for breakfast. We had fresh fruit that seemed like it was picked that morning. Fresh sweet cherries topped off a fruit salad made of pears, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, fresh pineapple, strawberries honeydew melon, and cantaloupe. Unlike most places, there was an even mix of berries and fruit, not two berries on... More

Normally there is a line to get in, but it is definitely worth it. They have some very unusual breakfast combinations and their whole wheat pancakes are to die for. Seriously! Their french toast is quite good too. They don't cut corners and it shows. They are only open Thursday- Sunday mornings, so it is fits in your schedule, check... More

Weird place. They have a sign up sheet plus a host. Don't forget to sign in or you'll get it from the hostess. LOL. Don't think I'll be back for another screaming incident of kitchen road rage from the owner. Problem, I asked to speak with him about the mix up. DON'T FORGET TO SIGN IN!

Description
Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.
