If you are in the Kalamazoo area, and you spent your money on ice cream from a national franchise, SHAME ON YOU! Pure delight. The staff is quick and friendly about taking your orders. I won't bother listing my favorite flavors. Just show up and you will most certainly find something that will please you.

We love Plainwell ice cream. TG not closer to home or we would need bigger britches. Every flavor is delicious and as fresh as possible. Sometimes we stop for a cone, but mostly we grab a half gallon to go. You cannot go wrong here, so much better than commercial stuff.

Husband took me here after a country drive. I got the Key Lime Ice Cream, husband got the French Silk. The key lime reminds me of Florida same taste. The French Silk is very chocolatey, but so smooth. It's just disappears in your mouth. Awesome ice cream!!!

This place has been here in the same location longer than I have been alive(65 yrs.) People come from long driving distances just for their icecream. The place is small, but pristine. When u drive by, there are tons of people mingling and eating Plain well icecream. They also make it right there and have many wonderful flavors.

They do a great job of making their own ice cream, and have made their own for decades. Looks like an old fashioned storefront because that is what it is. The best locally made ice cream I've had in West Michigan.

Art & Judy Gaylord have run this business for as long as I can remember. Everyone in town knows they open in the spring and that the final day of the season is Halloween. We can't wait to see which new flavors will be unveiled each new year. My all time favorite is Coconut Almond Chip which was retired. They... More

Great ice cream! Closed from Halloween to March (?). Family loves Key Lime Pie, Cappuccino, Pumpkin, Black Cherry, but all flavors delicious! Very affordable in quarts also.
