Had lunch here after walking tour of Khiva. Our guide had told us about the green dill pasta which is a speciality of the region and only found here. This sounded too intriguing to miss. Lunch was of the fixed-menu variety - mixed cucumber, beetroot and tomato salads, followed by manti (small pastry -type amuse bouche), followed by soup (the... More

Pleasant surroundings. Attentive staff. The food was just the usual offerings - no complaints. Rather expensive.

Stopped by for lunch with our guide. The restaurant is conveniently located just next to the Islam Khoja complex and has indoor and outdoor seating. Tables were scare as they were holding most of them for tour groups so we sat outside at a small table. The service was prompt. No menu, the waiter just told the guide what was... More

Zarafshan café was located right near my B&B (Xiva Atabek), so there was no missing it for me. Since I spent three nights in Xiva, I happened to eat here twice, and my experience was mixed. The atmosphere was what I surely loved about the place! Historic location, cozy interior, warm traditional colours contribute to truly enjoyable sitting… if you... More

We were hesitant to enter here when we learnt it was one of the restaurants that are used in the "tourist tours" because we though the food wasn't gonna be as authenthic. We were mistaken. We ate relly good food and at a reasonable price, and when you leave the restaurant at night you can see the monuments with lights,... More

Checked it out for dining but was put off by the language problem, and had to settle for a cup of coffee. The people were warm and hospitable and the decor was lovely.

As a local I can say that food here is not the most delicious you can find in Uzbekistan. It is good, but not good enough. Soups, manti (steamed dough filled with meat) are quite mediocre. The only tasty thing was green noodles which is a speciality of this area (they are coloured with dill juice). The service isn't great... More

Our travel company arranged an evening dinner here for us. We chose to sit outside which is right next to the Islam Khodja Minor, very scenic and a privilige, I guess. A nut basket was served before they took our order. The agent ordered all local foods for us which was mainly soups and vegetable fares. What I found was... More

I enjoyed their version of stuffed cabbage. Only negative was that the beer was not cold and a bit on the expensive side. But I would go back to sample more of the food. It had a home cooked quality to it.
