We recently enjoyed dinner here and everything from start to finish was excellent.
Our entrees were delicious with quality ingredients and very generous portions. Our server was a pleasure, both friendly and efficient. She suggested topping options for our decadent brownie sundaes (we chose hot fudge, yum!) to wrap things up on a perfect note!
The restaurant is beautiful!! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a varied menu, there is something for everyone. If you're in the area I highly recommend that you stop in for a drink, an appetizer, a full meal or even just dessert, you'll be happy you did!!!

White Buffalo was an unexpected delight. The space is very well designed and attractive. The menu is varied and offers familiar items, such as burgers and more sophisticated choices, such as bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with a coarse ground mustard sauce, which I chose and savored every bite. Very fresh Ceasar salad. My husband's steak poivre was cooked to order and, per his report, delicious. Definitely, worth a visit.

I ate here with 3 friends last night and we all had a wonderful experience. We got seated immediately without a reservation (it was a weeknight though) and were waited on quickly. Our server was informed, pleasent and excellent. We all ordered different main dishes and all 4 were delicious. My chicken dish was tender with good sauce and the potatoes and green beans very good. Other dishes ordered were steak, ribs and a vegetarian couscous dish and all were pronounced yummy. The bread basket that came with the meals had small fragrant and slightly sweet rolls which was replenished at our request. We all ordered the same dessert that wasn't on the menu but recommended by our waiter-blackberry tart that came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very tasty! We left feeling very full but very happy. The prices are reasonable for the size, quality and service you get. Highly recommend the White Buffalo.

After checking the menu and reading the reviews we were hopeful. Service was friendly but sparse. The restaurant was maybe half full but service was very slow.
The adult meals we ordered were blah—Boursin chicken and teriyaki fettuccine stir fry. First, no clue why fettuccine noodles were used. The same noodles were the kids spaghetti and kids buttered noodles (the spaghetti plate was very full while the buttered noodles was about half the amount). Second, the flavors really lacked.
Our buttered noodle eater finished his entire plate and was still hungry so we ordered the bread basket. The menu said “a selection of house made compound butters”. There were two. One was sweet. The bread was an herby garlic (?) focaccia type bread. Terrible. The butter somehow made the bread worse. The only meal enjoyed was the kids ribs. Great portion size and the eater enjoyed it.
Another diner nearby ordered the spinach artichoke dip and it looked good from afar.
This place is too expensive to be this bad. Unfortunately, Mackinaw City is lacking in solid food/service so good luck.

The setting is nice; the food was pretty bland/average. The prices were too high for the average-ness of the food. Corn fritters lacked flavor/punch. The beef tenderloin was very good (($32); boursin chicken was ok ($23). Garlic mashed and seasonal vegetable offered. When told the seasonal vegetable was "green beans" (nothing glamorous there) we inquired of our server if we could substitute side salads and were told yes we could. We were charged for the side salads ($6 each). Still got the green beans. Nothing special about them. No almondine, no pecans, no bacon flavor. Just plain old boiled green beans that were a bit over-cooked. All in all - we won't return as it was too expensive for the type of food being offered.

The White Buffalo is a wonderful addition to downtown Mackinaw City. I’ve eaten here several times and it’s always a positive experience. Last evening I chose the Quinoa Stir fry entree. It was beyond delicious. So good I couldn’t stop eating it, and it was a very large serving. The tanginess of the balsamic sauce with the quinoa and stir fry vegetables was a thrill to my palate. I’ve had the ribs, whitefish, salmon, pork tenderloin, and bourbon steak in the past. The food is always top notch. Servers are very pleasant and eager to make your dining experience one that will keep you coming back each time you are in Mackinaw City. Try it; you’ll like it,

Beautiful new restaurant. This could have been a great dinner experience. We were two couples on a Friday night at 6pm. No waiting for a table. Waitress did not offer nightly specials and had no idea what the specialty drinks were. I ordered an espresso martini and my friend had a blue ice, our husband's had flat Coke. The bread basket came out first, frozen butter, rolls were tasty but very dry. Our appetizer was corn fritters, very tasty. I ordered the chicken Cesar salad, the chicken was not cooked properly, pink in the middle. My friend ordered the bacon wrapped pork loin, also undercooked and pink in the middle. My husband had the ribs. He was happy with them. A burger was also ordered, burger was cooked to order, fries were undercooked, very soggy and greasy. We will diffinatly eat here again, in a few months. I'm sure this new restaurant will be a great asset Mackinaw. Our waitress did offer dessert and successfully seperated our bill. A little kitchen and wait staff experience will go along way.

I had dinner here with my niece on Christmas Eve. The interior is amazing! It takes 15 minutes to go to the bathroom because there is so much to see. Dinner can be hard in some restaurants since my niece has some dietary choices that this restaurant was able to accommodate. They had quite a few dishes she would eat. I had the whitefish. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of rice and there was no problem. My niece had the quinoa stir fry and they brought her the salad dressing she asked for. You'd think that wasn't such a big deal, but in some restaurants, it seems to be a big deal. We each had a drink. What an enjoyable dinner before heading to Christmas Eve Service.

Some of the best carry out food I’ve had in Mack City. The Cajun chicken with cheddar grits and green beans was deelish. And the quinoa stir fry was popping with flavor with vegetables at just the right doneness. Can’t wait to try more dishes and dine in some day. The ambience looks super cool. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommend this pace! We had the most delicious meal here. I had the Boursin Chicken and my husband had the Herb Encrusted Whitefish. Both were fabulous. We ate very slow to enjoy every bite. In addition to the food, the staff was great. We were greeted and seated immediately. Also the decor of the restaurant is very pleasant and the place is nice and clean. I definitely give this 5 out of 5 stars. Next time we are in the area, we will be back.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. The food was fantastic. I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the beef tenderloin. which were perfectly cooked and served with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of carrots/asparagus. The entire meal was delicious.

We had a great experience at the White Buffalo. They were able to seat us (a larger group) and we had prompt and courteous service. The menu options were the best by far in Mackinaw City (it was hard to find fresh, healthy options at other restaurants). We all enjoyed our appetizers and entrees,,,,,very fresh, just the right portion size, and prepared as expected. We enjoyed it so much we went back another time during our stay in MC. Definitely try the White Buffalo!

Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. They have the best coffee I have ever tasted! I was told it was organic and ground at the restaurant.
If you don't like the side that comes with the meal you are considering, they have no problem letting you pick a different one.
I had the cajun chicken and my husband has the bordelaise sirloin and he said it was perfect.

Stopped in for dinner tonight since we are staying in town and it had a decent menu. Lots of things to choose from, but since we really were not very hungry, just got apps. My wife's spinache & artichoke dip was good, as was my whitefish pate. Don't know who the server was because he didn't leave the check after we paid, but he started off bad and got worse. He asked if we wanted any alchohol for dinner, and I asked my wife and she ordered a glass of wine. He immediately turned and walked away, not even asking me. OK, so I'll stick with the water. He wasn't very knowlegable on the menu either. My wife asked if they had a riesling, and he didn't know; he had to get her the wine list. I asked what frybread was (never heard of it before) and couldn't explain it to me. After him fumbling around for a while, I asked him to check with the kitchen. He never checked back to see how things were until we were all done, and then started picking up the plates, even though we had left overs we were going to take with us. Now I know there is a staffing shortage, but the issues we had tonight we not because they were short staffed it was simply that he doesn't know what he's doing. Prices are par for the course for the area and they would have gotten a higher rating if we had better service.

My wife and I were up opening up our cabin, took a drive into town and noticed White Buffalo. It opened in the late fall, after our last trip. We had a small meal, just beer and some sliders. The sliders were incredibly tasty, a hint of heat, and other flavors that made them incredibly tasty. Can’t wait to go back for their full meal. Server and waitstaff we’re very friendly. Unlike a lot of places lately, they were fully staffed. In the summer they will have roof top dining. Great addition to Mackinaw!
The decor is nice, refreshing, and there a many interesting pictures in the hallway to the rest rooms.
