Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We came here in March and stopped here the first night of our trip, and this is the place we compared all other restaurants to for the remainder of our trip! A month later, and we are still talking about it!
The bartender was so excited to serve us, he damn near hopped over the bar to seat us! He was very passionate about the beers and made many recommendations, as well as told us about the favorites on the food menu.
The Dirty Chips were by far the best appetizer that we have had in quite a long time. The combinations of flavors was perfection! The only thing that would have made it better was if you could swap the chips out for fries, but that's just a texture thing for me. It was fantastic as is as well.
My partner had the Jalapeno Popper burger and it was literally the size of his head. It had huge onion rings on it, with poppers in the middle, and a cream cheese jalapeno spread. He had to deconstruct it to eat it, but let me tell you, he had heart eyes with every single bite. I had the salmon burger and it too was huge. The fries were fantastic and I was pleased that they had malt vinegar to go with them. We've been so excited to return!

We love this place! Now that the kitchen is open again, we come for the delicious new menu every week. The pulled pork is awesome and the brisket on freshly baked rye bread is amazing! Today I had one of the new paninis, salami cheddar and mushroom, and it was awesome. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms but the tapenade they make is really delicious. With all of the wonderful brew options, warm atmosphere and friendly wait staff, this place is at the top of our list for casual lunch or dinner.

Love Biere de Mac! Always greeted with a smiling face and great service! The beer is my favorite! Blueberry Wheat brings all the summer vibes. I'm so happy to see them offer a bit to eat - the paninis are the perfect portion to accompany a beer.

We ordered the pretzels and Ale cheese dip... they served three small pretzels that I am 99% sure were the mini pretzles that you buy in the frozen section at the grocery store, And they charged $9 for it.... it’s taste was worth maybe $3 at most. The avocado BLT was decent. The crunchy whitefish goujons meal was interesting. The fish was good, I will give them that, but the fries were HARD. I hit several of them on my plate and it made a noise.. thankfully The fries that came with the BLT were good so I could share those. The coleslaw looked scary.. I couldn’t even get myself to try it. Overall, would not recommend to anyone based on the poor quality of food and it being overpriced.

Pretty average looking place from the road. Not overly impressed with any of their beers either. Guy that waited on us was friendly enough and helpful when he was pressed. Food consisted of an overpriced food truck in the back. Best thing was their polished concrete floor and flight holder.

We stopped in on our way home from the UP with the intent of a beer and pretzel. Upon arrival, the food smelled wonderful, we considered dinner. There was a proximately a 15 to 20-minute wait for a table inside because they do not serve food outside, do we went to the bar, ordered a beer to take outside. The bartender was extremely friendly, very quick to service a drink as well as allowing us to take a sample of our choice prior to order, and we were just paying in our table was ready! It was more of a 7 minute weight rather than 20. when we got to the table, when our waitress finally came over, she said there was going to be a delay with ordering food because they had just placed a couple of big orders. we asked how long the wait might be and she said maybe about 45 minutes. Since our original intention was just a pretzel we decided to go with that. She said that would be extremely fast to get. We waited 30 minutes for a pretzel!!! We were extremely disappointed that the "fast pretzel" probably took the same amount of time had we ordered food.all the food that has fire table look wonderful so we can't really comment on that. The pretzel was good the beer was good.

Unfortunately, while dealing with the new changes that the pandemic has forced us to do, food does not come out as quickly as our guests are accustomed too. We are not a fast food establishment and all of dishes, be it an entree, or an appetizer, takes the same amount of time. When we are as busy as we are in the summer season we suggest grabbing a beer, kicking back and enjoy the moment with your friends/family. The food will be delightful when it comes out! We thank you for coming into are small taproom and we hope to serve you again on your next trip!

Very clean... watched every menu, condiment container, and table being cleaned each time. Best we’ve seen. Tables were topped with fresh paper coverings. Whitefish and fries were hot and amazing. Burger and sweet potato fries were only slightly warm and not great. The wait for food was very long after being seated as our food came out with tables that sat 20+ min after us. Server was nice but too busy to be properly attentive. Not impressed with the beer or beer selection either. One and done joint for us.

We're two foodie tourists, and this place was exactly what we were looking for. It's off the beaten path, so it's not super touristy, and the quality of food more than compensates for the price. The specials were amazing. It was so good, we ate here two days in a row. Seriously, if you love high quality, delicious food, eat here!

We tried to have dinner at Biere De Mac last night, but because of the over hour wait we decided to go elsewhere. We came back for lunch and now we know why there was such a long wait. Such an amazing meal. Food came out fast and it was SO good. We shared the green chile nachos, the Amish chicken sandwich on naan, the soba noodle bowl and the baba ghanoush. Everything was super yummy and the blueberry beer is delightful.

We had to wait to be seated but that was no problem as we bought some beers at the bar and went outside to keep warm at the burn barrels while meeting new people. The food was exceptional, we had the jalapeño burger and mushroom burger, both with steak fries and the house made ranch (amazing). The beers are house made and very good, I especially liked the Blueberry Wheat and Loudmouth (it’s a blonde beer). The atmosphere was great and the owner and staff were so friendly! We definitely will be coming back!

This place is alway phenomenal with it’s deliciously made beer such as the Belgium Wit, French Farmhouse Ale and Blueberry Wheat, to name just a few and now they have brought back delicious food!!! I had this Italian panini with prosciutto, cheese and pesto! My son had the brisket sandwich with a superb spicy sauce that was such a surprise! They have their backyard open with several picnic tables and a fire pit going! Often music is playing too either live or DJ.

People were having a good time and there was a good buzz to the tables. The beers are all made in-house plus the cider is Michigan cider. The Loud Mouth beer was DELICIOUS and I'm not a beer drinker. We had the Mac n Cheese and the Whitefish and Belgian Fries. Everything had an unusual twist to an ordinary dish but it was all FANTASTIC. There was a line to get in but you can get a beer then go out to picnic tables to wait. Line moved fast. Wish we had eaten here earlier in the wrk so we could come again. Max at the bar was EXCELLENT!

Everything was superb! The Winnie the Bulldog brew was amazing. The pretzel and cheese appetizer was great with the hot fresh pretzels and cheese with a zing. The Jalapeno popper burger earned the comment: "best burger I've ever eaten!" The blackened salmon ceasar salad is exactly what a ceasar should taste like. The homemade fries are sensationally seasoned. The BLT avocado naan-which was packed with bacon and very fresh. The best meal we've eaten in Mackinaw!

What a great brewery! After two days touring Mackinaw Island, we were tired and hungry. This is the real deal, non-tourist, foodie food. Creative menu, great beer, and fantastic service from Molly. We tried kids burger, Soba noodle bowl, pulled pork brioche, and Mighty Mac & Cheese ( pictured in order). Everything was excellent and we took home half of the noodle bowl. This is a return visit restaurant on our next trip through the area.

Tried this place on recommendation of people at my hotel. The food is very tasty (well, the generous steak, cheese and sweet pepper on pita bread, anyway, which is what I tried. Loved it.) The two IPAs I tried were also very good. The service was prompt and friendly. I will absolutely come here again next time my travels take me through Mackinac City.
