My husband and I visited this establishment for our 36th anniversary. It is small and intimate, the lighting subdued, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We found it absolutely delightful! The owner, Mr. Farhat, showed an interest in the customers and the waitstaff was attentive. And most importantly, the food was delicious. We had the Scottish Salmon, which was perfectly prepared. The... More

While visiting Lansing for a concert we decided to look for a dinner-worthy restaurant. We were downtown and were not familiar with the area so we picked the Knight Cap as it was close and were very happy we did. We were promptly greeted and seated. First of all the salads we ordered came fresh and crispy (I had ordered... More

It was a date night for us, which we rarely get. After walking through the door the lady sat us at a small table and took my coat. The place is small but decorated nice. We had the crab cake($15), lobster bisque($8 bowl), New York strip($35), rib eye($49), and cheese hash brown potatoes($5). The waitress was great!!! The food was... More

Of course, if you don't like quirky and old-fashioned, you won't like this place. But it is so cute! Old waiters, old decor, old-style but excellent food. Love the intimate environment. A memorable special occasion place. If you are not going for steak, don't bother going at all. Lobster Bisque is excellent as well.

Our favorite serious restaurant.. been there three times in the last two months. Seafood chowder with plenty lobster, shrimp, mussels, delicately flavored creamy broth...made a meal. Have enjoyed rack of lamb, tender and rare as ordered, Steak flavorful and juicy. Fresh asparagus was young, not overcooked. Mushroom Caps stuffed with seafood made special beginner for the table. Blueberry cheesecake filled... More

We were lucky enough to have time on our trip to make reservations at the Knight Cap, a very small, intimate steakhouse. We were greeted and seated immediately. We waited to order the wine until our guests arrived. All of us were very pleased with the food and how it was prepared. Two had the sizzler, one had duck and... More

Found this place in the Lansing Visitors magazine. We thought the name a bit goofy, but inside: very small, intimate dining space, white linen table cloths & excellent service. Oysters on half shell ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!!! And I order them whenever I can, so I know whereof I speak. Best filet mignon I think I've ever tasted: changed my opinion that... More

If you find yourself in the downtown Lansing area and want a special dining experience, try the Knight Cap. It is just a few blocks east of the Capitol building on E. Intimate little dinner spot seating about 45-50 people with a small bar. This was our third visit in 3 months and although having enjoyed ourselves have found their entrees to be inconsistent at best. The last 2 visits have included overcooked duck and "fresh grouper" that had some age on it.

We decided to have our annual Christmas dinner with our good friends at the Knight Cap. We had eaten there in the past, but it has been several years. Unfortunately, it is not the elegant, upscale restaurant that we expected. The service, although timely, was not befitting an upscale establishment. The waiter was obviously "green" and not very well trained.... More
