food is good but so what when the service is pathetically apathetic. they do treat regulars well, not a good business model.

Superb gourmet restaurant! All the restaurant employees are extremely courteous and highly professional. The food entrees are all excellent and cooked too perfection. If anyone is looking for a nice cozy restaurant I highly recommend the Oakwood Bistro in Kalamazoo, MI. This restaurant is worth every penny you spend for a superb day or evening of fun, relaxation, and superbly... More
I think the management dose not like the fact that happy hour watching a game Michigan state witch they got bet. We where 3 of 5 in at the the bar and we where asked to leave but the two at the bar with us did not complain Ryan Soule is the head chef and will not be back they... More
This restaurant serves good food, but with a limited menu. There are a number of wines to pair with your choices, and many of the offerings can be adjusted to be vegetarian.
I had one of the most delicious pasta dishes of my life! Smoked turkey in an Alfredo sauce, topped with crisp chorizo, served on a bed of spinach (a special of the day). Loved every bite, but couldn't resists adding dessert to my evening of "food sin"! The creme brulee was fantastic, as always!
Oakwood Bistro has an interesting menu, pleasing ambience, good service, and overpriced food. The salad I ordered did not include the almonds as described and had rubbery feta cheese. $15 for a disappointing lunch salad is too much.
We had a great steak, and Hamburg. It was lunch time. The steak was a tenderloin, it was so good. Perfect flavor and it was sliced with a good sauce. The burger was cooked as asked. We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was very quiet.
Oakwood Bistro. A neighborhood bistro tucked away in the Oakwood Plaza is more than just beer and pizza. We have been going to Oakwood Bistro for many years. When you first walk in there is a pub like atmosphere leading to the bar. The open kitchen to your left and restaurant seating on the right. The restaurant area is casual... More
Who would have thought that such a lovely, cozy restaurant would be nestled in a strip mall. Charming place! Food excellent. The French Onion soup was out of this world. I had the ribs and they were wonderful. Service was excellent. Atmosphere perfect. Highly recommend. An epicurean delight - real food served fancy. Will definately be back!
I have to agree with Ralph from Kalamazoo (below). My lunch was disappointing (again). I come here for the salmon (on salads or salmon BLT) and I unfortunately ordered the SMALL salmon salad and the salmon was shredded into small bits on top of my plain, boring lettuce (no croutons, tomatoes, or anything extra). Who tears up a nice piece... More
