Lovely offerings of fresh fruit, house-smoked salmon and fine cheeses and charcuterie meats in addition to the expected perfect bacon, steel cut oatmeal and egg dishes. Long-time chef Elvis makes fantastic omelettes to order. Our favorite is the Mediterranean. We must also note the fine hotel made croissants and scones as well as another favorite the addictive sausage gravy with... More

We had lunch reservations on a very crowded Saturday. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was great--salmon poke, seafood chowder, perch tacos, and tenderloin tacos. The perch tacos were especially awesome! Although we didn't order the brunch buffet, I walked by and it looked fabulous--next time I will get that. The one negative was the roadwork getting there,... We love Sunday brunch at "616". I never seem to write a review which is sad considering the reason is that it consistently exceeds expectation to the point it is simply the norm. That said, we had a corporate event downtown and my wife and I elected to stay at the JW as well. The hotel staff from restaurant to... More

While staying at the JW for a weekend getaway, we enjoyed the 616 breakfast buffet two mornings. Many excellent choices for everyone including one of the best omelette stations I have experienced. The service though was even more impressive. Judy was our server and was so nice and went out of her way to make this enjoyable and relaxing. Chef... More

We had the breakfast buffet and a light fare for dinner. Breakfast buffet was beyond what you have gotten used to these days. The baked goods were baked that morning and still crispy at 10:00 instead of most places these days. They had house made yogurt, Michigan made Cheeses and lots of fine quality ingredients. It may not be casino... More

After asking around for a cheap place for breakfast, we decided to just eat at our hotel. It wasn't cheap but it was delicious and we were impressed with the staff there. Breakfast buffet is the way to go and you can get your eggs made to order and cooked right in front of you. The area is very cozy... More

Very nice restaurant with wonderful selections of food and drink. Our server "Molly" was absolutely great. She knew the menu front and back and answered every question we had. I had the salmon and my husband had the double pork chops. We would go back in a minute! We didn't get there until about 8:15 and instead of getting less... More

This is fine dining with a nice view of the river. Not inexpensive, but worth the price. Take someone special or an important client. Can't miss.

Excellent server. Great food. And a table that was the worst in the restaurant. Located in front of the sliding door to the summer patio right next to the servers station and 10 feet from the noisy bar patrons. Like sitting in a hallway. It was Valentines day. Not the least private or romantic. This table should be removed. Or... More

Seriously, the best bone marrow we've ever had, anywhere in the world. The largest serving. Fresh. Sounds weird I know. But nobody every expects to have a randomly amazing experience at a hotel in Michigan. It was awesome. Otherwise, the service was just ok. Our drinks took forever, then our apps took forever, then our entrees took forever and the... More
