I know the reviews are spotty for El Azteco, which I don't understand. We love it! Every time we are in East Lansing we make a point to stop here. The chips and salsa are amazing. The margaritas are also great! The blue corn tortilla enchiladas are awesome too. Of the countless times we have dined here, we have never... More

El Azteco is always on our menu of places to eat, The food is good, portions are generous and the roof seating is always pleasant (weather permiting). Eating inside is a bit noisy, but that is the nature of the building.

Visited El Azteco for dinner last Monday to take my son out. Manic Monday $3 margarita specials and tacos that did not disappoint. Server recommended appetizer size guacamole instead of each of us ordering a side which was a nice $6 cost savings. So we had another round of margaritas. Delicious food served quickly, especially enjoyed free hot chips and... More

The food was tasteless. The tortillas were steamed and not grilled. No meat. No flavor. The salad was nothing but lettuce. Horrible. Oh, and no carry out containers. DO NO GO HERE!

The founder of the restaurants known as El Azteco ( 2 in the East Lansing, Lansing area) was originally from New Mexico. He brought his personal touch to the menu and it shows. Arturo's attention to details even extends to his tortillas & topos (taco chips) which he makes from scratch using locally sourced materials-- using New Mexican sourced sourced... More

I was a student at MSU in the mid '80 and I had never had Mexican food other than Taco Bell. So, my roommates decided to take me here. Fantastic! The only mistake I made was ordering the hot. Hoooo! Well anyway, I come back to East Lansing a couple of times a year and I always make a stop... More

El Azteco serves thoroughly Americanized Mexican food. Ingredients tasted canned - you know, it's the kind of restaurant that squirts guacamole from a plastic ketchup bottle.

This was recommended to us to try since we were visiting Michigan State University. It was reasonably priced. The food was tasty but the service was very slow. We had the house special of salad on top of nachos. It was interesting and filling. It's very casual inside and is a good spot for college kids who have a tight... More

Did a couple of bar hops with my grandson before he was swept away by friends. We love El Az and we're not disappointed! Weather permitting, the upstairs deck is fabulous - especially for people watching. Food is consistent and ToPoPo salad is always perfect for sharing!

My best guess this restaurant is still running is only cause if its locations. I order guacamole and its was un usually cold like frozen cool down. Which Mexican restaurant use frozen guacamole. Food is below average. Under cooked and over priced for its quality. And not to forget hotel smells kind if bad.
