Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful, private, delicious, romantic dinner for 2 to celebrate an anniversary. Wine recommendations were greatly appreciated and we shared the Châteaubriand, which was phenomenal. Didn’t really need dessert after that but had to try the chocolate fondant which didn’t disappoint.

Appalling food….they are having a lend!! French onion soup was tasteless ….Maggi French Onion leaves it for dead. No Gruyere cheese or crusty baguette croutons. The Octopus salad - tasteless too. Not what you’d expect to find on a French menu. Don’t go if you...appreciate delicious French cuisine….you won’t find it here.More

We enjoyed a romantic dinner here during a stay at Crown for the Pink concert. Good French bread with butter and rock salt to start, followed by fabulous chicken pate entrees. My partner had a very tasty cheese soufflé, while I thoroughly enjoyed the French...gnocchi. We finished with two desserts; a dreamy strawberry soufflé and a selection of fruity sorbets. Even the cappuccinos were outstanding! An attentive female waiter added to the experience. Highly recommended!More

The food was very expensive and very average. However; it was the exorbitant parking fee of $40 for 2 hours and 45 minutes that really ruined our experience! Don’t think we’ll be visiting crown again any time soon. There are much better places to dine...in Perth.More

Excellent French cuisine, the chef and kitchen definitely knows what they are doing BUT the service was appalling. There was no welcome at the beginning and then we had a seemingly inexperienced waitperson who was not friendly or knowledgeable. We went at the same time...last year and noticed a significant drop in service. Also disappointing was the fact of the mille-feuille has been taken off the menu. This visit was quite disappointing apart from the amazing food.More

Very stylish restaurant! We decided to sit on the balcony. Wonderful view! We found waiters very professional and friendly and always filling up our wine glass and making sure everything was okay! We ordered the smoked salmon and the Octopus for starters! Followed by the...crab linguine and the cheese platter! Everything delicious ! We definitely couldn’t fault anything. We are looking forward to returning soon.More

Pre show diners get sat at the front of the restaurant we felt like we were sat in a corridor as everyone walked past us to get to their seats with several people bumping my chair. Terrible dining experience!! The male manager is rude, don't...dare tell him something is wrong.. very arrogant! I ordered the chicken & paris mash, the portion was large & it was cooked well, but to be honest it's nothing out of this world and something you can do the same at home. It also felt like something was missing, maybe some veg. My wife had the gnocchi and she did really enjoy it but said she prefers Italian gnocchi better. The profiteroles were nothing special, no custard just filled with ice cream, you get 3 in a serve. The service was the most disappointing thing. There was alot of staff and some just standing around with their hands behind their backs and most not getting eye contact with diners, so you have to put your hand in the air. Not once was our sparkling water or wine topped up by staff. For the price you pay that's not fine dining. That's us, we are done with this place!!More

I should preface this lower score by saying my partner loved his meal. Oysters were fresh and he really enjoyed the crab pasta. I was disappointed with my choices. The soufflé was very cheesy but as a stand alone dish - no salad, no garnish...there was nothing to cut thru the cheesiness and it was way too rich. Then I had FOD which was Exmouth cod. This was a very thick and small piece - but the way it was cooked meant the fish was tough. The ravioli served with it was Luke warm like it had waited on the pass for something else to be ready. It was also served with a cheesy style sauce - again super rich. We also had the grilled broccolini which was fine. All in all disappointing. I remember the days at crown where the bread was free and you could have as many pieces as you liked. Now it’s $3 per piece.More

the worst food ive ever had and this is supposed to be fine dining? Nothing like french food. The double cheese souffle is literally the only good thing on the menu, our tenderloin was not freshly made and tough as leather, the cous cous had...no flavour and just tasted like converyor belt food. Swordfish was tough and dry and flavourless. We didnt bother to stay for dessert, they brought out a crappy little chocolate with a birthday message and thats all not event a cupcake. Furthermore when i complained to the staff they made me feel bad saying. "oh youre the first to complain" which is bull crap because I have since then checked google reviews and they have a tonne of reviews with the same complaints as mine and I wish i said more or refused to pay. I am so disappointed, Ive lived in france and this is not french food nor did it resemble any type of fine dining or let alone quality food.More

I finally decided to try Bistro after living in Perth for ten years. My partner convinced me despite my insistence that I'm not a fan of French food. Well, hadn't I been missing out! Service - excellent Food - exceptional Cost - great value We...decided none of the entrees was saying, try me so instead, opting to go for two courses having desert over entrees I had the beef tenderloin high qa cooked to perfection and delicious. My partner had the lamb, which she kindly let me try, which was also amazing. For deserts, we had the profiteroles that were nice but nothing amazing. However, the soufflè was out of this world. The total price for two courses, two cocktails and a bottle of wine was around $240. More than average for dinner, but for the service and quality of food, I felt it was really good value. The week before, we had been to Atrium restaurant for Christmas in July, and spent the same kind of money, and the two are like chalk and cheese in terms of service, food, and occasion. It definitely won't be ten years until my next visit. Bistro may well be my new favourite restaurant in Perth.More

On Tuesday night the 25th April 2023 having previously booked and confirmed for 4 adults( 2 friends from California they requested a French Restaurant) arrived on time led to our designated table I requested a change as we would be sitting with a family with...a young child in a pram. Moved to a table next to the kitchen. Lovely waitress took out drinks & food order. Brahimi Guillaume is French & he knows full well what it’s like to dine in a Bistro in French, he restaurant is a very very poor substitute or con? 4 starters Octopus not French but Onion Soup a disgrace where was the oozing Gruyère cheese cascading down the sides of rage bowl No aroma of garlic, herbs, wine and sautéed onions? Chicken Liver pate lacking in flavour, salt obviously made a week ago served with nasty and very cheap gherkins not French Cornichons. Cheese Soufflé nothing special once you like egg whites. The 4 main courses passable But most definitely not French Cooking by numbers with no love or passion. When we finished our main courses our dirty places sat on our table for over 1 hour waiting to be cleared?. Even though on duty we 2 managers in grey suits One manager in particular spent her entire time taking to someone in your kitchen Love must be in the air for certainly we received no Love. I had to be restrained physically by my wife from taking up all our dirty dishes and handing them to one of your totally disinterested managers. The result we were not offered pudding, coffees or after dinner drinks which cost you a hugely. After sales is the key to success. BRAHAMI PLEASE RETURN TO France and learn about French Bistro’s. Don’t try and fool you hard working paying customer by pretending this is a French cooking and service experienceMore

Disappointed as hell. Were very keen for this outing, as only have experienced Nobu at the casino so was looking for something new. And while the service guy did his best, he was clearly not trained properly by the management. Didn't get drinks for 15...minutes, didn't get bread until after the order was taken (20 mins) and then ended up walking out after no service or food for 45+ minutes after taking our food orders. Management was barely apologetic, no reason for the lack of food or service. Watched another table ask another table if they could have their salt and pepper shakers. Jesus Christ, would not expect that from a place in the casino. So disappointed.More
