Dick O 'Dow's has become an established part of the social fabric of downtown Birmingham. When it opened a number of years ago, Dick O'Dow's was tad faux. It looked like the owners had ordered a dumpster full or Irish artifacts. However, over time faux becomes authentic! Good range of beers and friendly, efficient staff. Normally plenty of seating at... More

I don't get out here as often as I used to, I moved an hour away. I make sure to stop in whenever I'm in the area. I refer to it as the "anti-Birmingham" bar. This place is not pretentious. It's a great place to have a few pints and relax or watch a game. The food is what you... More

The bar food was good, but I didn't like the interior. It's supposed to be an authentic irish pub. I found it dark and drafty on a winter's day. Seemed kind of empty in the afternoon. There are nicer places to hang on late winter afternoon, like Market North!.

Fried pickles were excellent, not greasy. Creamy chicken soup was more of a thick stew and very good. Rueben was good + but could have used more meat. Great interior.

The atmosphere is always good regardless of the time of the year. Food is very good. Much better than a lot of similar places in the area, and priced well too. It's been a solid place for year and still is.

Sat on the patio and enjoyed the cars going by. Good hearty food. Watch out for the onion rings!!! WOW, never had rings so battered and big! I thought it was an order of fish and chips! Beer was good and cold and server was pleasant. Would recommend for lunch on a nice sunny day

I am vegetarian and made it very specific to the server that we are "very strict " vegetarian. No meat , fish before placing the order. First order came out and it had chicken underneath the food. Very rude on their part. No apology . Asked to pay for drinks . Is a NO NO visit place .

Decided to try restaurant/bar out was in town for a business meeting. Checked menu out online sounded good. Was disappointed that menu in restaurant was different from the one online. There were choices I would have tried but were not available. Food was average. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was good.
