In the basement of the historic Red Lion Inn, this is a great spot for a beer or glass of wine. We were there on a Friday night and there was an acoustic guitar singer/songwriter who was great. A very romantic setting.
I have been to the Lion's Den off and on over the years when I visit the Red Lion going back 30 years and I think that it is time for a makeover. It needs a bit of spiffing up, including the service. We ordered...More
The food in the Lion's Den is mostly sandwiches, cheese plates, sausages and a nightly special. The food is all good and mostly made in house. Every night starting at 8 weekdays and 9 weekends. Great local place to catch a bite to eat and...More
We had dinner at the Inn and then found a door in the tavern that lead to the Pub in the basement. I loved it immediately. The bar is small and busy but the music and decor is worth it. There was a folksy blues...More

Typical delicious Pub-style food in a fun, casual setting. Entertainment some nights. Great service with good menu choices.
This place is 100% terrific for anytime. We happened to come by on Thanksgiving and the food and service were terrific. But if you like great atmosphere and stunning 200+ year old floors and traditional eats, don't miss out.More
Thank you so much for your kind words. The Red Lion has been welcoming travelers for almost 250 years, and much of the building remains the same through careful planning and preservation. Our pre-fix holiday dining events are always a popular tradition among our guests,...More
On Thanksgiving Day the only place open in town for lunch, but we actually couldn't have been happier with that fact. I had a roast beef sandwich, which was wonderful. We sat at the bar, and the bartender/waiter couldn't have been nicer.
