The reviews are all good, but I was concerned when we arrived. It is somewhat dated, the servers are all running around with too many tables, and they hold a lot of weddings at the venue. I had a bad feeling that we would be...More

We have dined on the Cape for close to 50 years, and this restaurant is one of our all time favorites. Elegant dining room with a lovely garden view including a bubbling fountain with small pond and lush greenery. We both love seafood so we...More

We go to Captain Linnell House twice each year when we vacation on the Cape. It is always our special dinner out and it has never failed over the years. The prime rib was superb. The wine, excellent. The table overlooking the garden is just...More

A lovely traditional inn with snazzy club-like Cape decor; two beautiful dining rooms; we were in one facing the beautiful garden fountain complete with lily pads with the orange and pink colors of the Cape Cod Bay sunset in the distance through a break. Excellent...More

What a shame this special restaurant will be closing in 2020. What a shame we had not dined here before.....we went for our anniversary, sat by the window overlooking the charming little garden (highly recommend asking for a garden room window table), the atmosphere is...More

The experience from start to finish was a pleasure. Shelly made the planning easy, was helpful throughout, and choreographed the evening flawlessly. The dinner was delicious, and the clam chowder was raved over. Everything exceeded expectations, from the garden wedding, to the fun cocktail hour...More

Four of us went to Captain Lindell this evening, knowing that this will be among the last times we visit. The restaurant will be closing in little more than a year and we're only on the Cape for a few weeks each summer. Dinner was,...More

We have been visiting Capt Linnell House for MANY years and the food and service were terrific on a Sunday evening in late August. The classic wide ranging menu continues (seafood, duck, veal, steak au poivre, pastas), but with a few specials and selected wines...More

My wife & I dined here for probably the last time this evening. We will not be returning to the Cape; and Bill & Shelli have an agreement to sell this crown jewel restaurant and venue in 2020. As they have been for the past...More

It was our second visit to this gorgeous restaurant set inside a historic mansion and beautifully landscaped garden. This time we had the Prime Rib which was delicious. The service is first class. Our hostess (and owner), Shelley, couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating...More

For the past 30 years all of our guests look great when they come through our doors. We do not have a dress code - but if we did - it would be "Cape Cod Nice". No suits, ties, or tiaras required!

Celebrating our 30th anniversary, the historic 1840 Captain Linnell House is home to Cape Cod's most distinguished fine dining restaurant as well as an award winning Cape Cod wedding, rehearsal dinner, and corporate venue site. We are located in Orleans, MA around the corner from Skaket Beach, a picturesque setting for a Cape Cod beach wedding ceremony. The Captain Linnell House is chef owned and offers expertly prepared classic fare - from iced Wellfleet oysters, escargot and baby kale salad, to entrees of rack of lamb, Black Angus prime rib, roast duckling with fresh raspberries, scrod n' parchment, and much more. We go as local and organic as possible. A three course $35.00 Prix Fixe Menu is offered from Mid-September thru June. Enjoy dining in one of our unique dining rooms. Our garden room looks out over a spacious lawn with the sunset in the distance. Fireplaces grace the other two. We are off the beaten path but finding us is memorable!
