Haven't been there in a couple of years but they opened another spot in Newton Centre that I like for lunch so I thought I would revisit. My not having dinner there was my loss. Food is excellent as is the service. Highly recommended!

Sycamore's food is just the beginning of a memorable experience at this restaurant. I had the swordfish dish and it was the best I've ever eaten. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and make you feel comfortable. They even brought a pate between courses, which we didn't order. Very friendly servers. Overall, a cozy and delightful... This bistro has its act together! Active bar seats maybe a dozen, restaurant holds about 40 or so. I had the lentil & shrimp soup first. It was very tasty but a short serve on the broth and a long serve on the bread. The squid was excellent. I'm used to wider cut bodies yet for Sycamore's appetizer their very... More

While the service and ambience at Sycamore was exceptional, the food was disappointing. The entrees and sides were loaded with fats and seemed very oily. The steak was covers with pistacchios and pomegranate seeds. We ordered sides of vegetables as a healthy companion to our proteins and the brussel sprouts were cooked in fat (maybe duck fat) and the carrots... More

We love the Sycamore for special occasions. A little pricey, but the food and drinks are amazing. They change the menu with some frequency, so there's always something new to try. Highly recommend.

We love sycamore, especially the drinks- but wish the prices were a bit more reasonable. I also wish the portions were larger. However, the food is dependable and tasty.

My wife and I were visiting our son and he introduced us to this outstanding new restaurant in Newton Centre!!! There is on-street parking and a city parking lot within a block away from the restaurant. The restaurant is somewhat small (700 square feet and 20 seats) and we were lucky to get seated after a short wait as we... More

Everything from the appetizer to the desert was excellent! Tuna tartare type atmosphere was wonderful but the grilled octopus that my friend got was really unique served in a stew-like dish with sausage and beans. I have never had octopus before and this was a standout dish for the taste and originality. I had a tasty steak for the main... More

Great vibe. The feel is very urban and the bar in particular is small but really fun. Menu is limited but quite good.

This is a small restaurant. Reservations at prime time are a must. The bar....innovative cocktails with exotic ingredients that are 1-2 dollars more than the run of the mill but well worth it. Wine list is small but adequate but if you are limiting your alcohol, have a cocktail. You won't be disappointed. The menu is not extensive but there... More
