Trained as a critic, expected professionally to distinguish between the good, the bad, and the indifferent, I am astonished and thrilled when I can say that a restaurant has delivered 100% on expectations. I could only wonder why it took us so long to return...More

Have been several times. Visited in the winter and in the summer. The food is always very good, service varies based on the tourist traffic. It can get very loud downstairs. We had a terrible experience on the second floor where it is quieter but...More

This place is phenomenal! Whether you're just in the mood for wine, or a gourmet meal (which you can't turn down once you see the plates being served to others), what a unique find! Great atmosphere, great people, and one of the best places in...More

A very small dining room combined with a bar keeps this pub hopping with a vibrant ambiance and friendly service. Combining exposed brick facade inside and out, copper top bar and rustic ceiling beams and tables. A two level dining nice European cafe offering a...More

Made reservations earlier in the week to coincide with an event at the Firehouse. From the moment we entered the door, to being led to our table on the third floor, to meeting our server, and consuming our dinner, just spectacular. The food was freshly...More

Ceia is run by the same team as Brine and both are a cut above what you typically find on the northshore of Boston (and, in my opinion, would be quite competitive in Boston). Creative drinks, interesting and eclectic menu, good service, exposed brick environment...More

The quality and variety is most certainly there, the service was great, and the wine list is good. But i have to admit, $200 before tip later, I left hungry. We did tapas, and I love tapas, but they were sized more like amuse bouche...More

We popped in here on a whim, sat at the downstairs bar and raised our expectations after viewing the menu and atmosphere. But, unfortunately, several things went downhill from there. I chose a Belgian red-brown beer from the bev menu, since I wasnt really thrilled...More

I travel a lot for work, often eating solo. Ceia's food is creative, fresh, & delicious. Service was highly professional, responsive, & sensitive to individual preferences. Charming environment with lovely instrumental music that was congruent with the atmosphere.

Everything was beyond just well done at Ceia this past Sunday. There were many options for egg dishes, in addition to a fairly extensive lunch menu. We started with the special donuts of the day, which were almost fluffy and drizzled with a salty carmel...More

I don't know if the restaurant is open for Easter. As for nut allergies, I think the kitchen would be very attentive to any special requests or needs. There were not any dishes that I remember having peanuts. Almonds... More

Where laughter is required. Jacket & tie are not. Going out with friends or a special someone means choosing a neighborly place that feels as comfortable as home, where conversation flows as easily as a smooth cabernet. Welcome to Ceia Kitchen + Bar. A new kind of nightlife in the heart of Downtown Newburyport, introducing this area"s first extended kitchen hours for later night dining or tete-a-tete cocktails with flavorful small plates. Our exposed brick interior with mellow lighting, cozy banquets and featured cocktail bar beckon even impromptu visits to this reliable neighborly eatery where singles, dates and a posse of good friends are assured of a comfortable night out with delicious food and great company. The spirit of Ceia (pr. SAY-yah) is in the translation of our name: "supper" in Portuguese, the language of one country included among the inspiring stops of our coastal European culinary repertoire.
