We stopped in for an afternoon drink to watch the college ball games. The bartenders were friendly and prompt. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to stopping in again for dinner. The place in quaint and located on a nice shopping street.

Had a really nice dinner at Ceia. Lovely food and atmosphere. They were fully booked so service was a bit slow though. But overall, very nice!

I confess that I have mixed feelings about Ceia. I have eaten here several times. About a year ago, I thought I would never try it again, but did. The dishes ranged from OK to quite good. My quarrel is that it is not great...More

Met some friends here for lunch recently. We sat at the bar on the street level. Quaint eclectic vibe. I found the menu quite limited, not many choices (I'm gluten free). Ordered the farm salad topped with fresh lobster; it was quite good. The service...More

Went there with my friend, made reservations for later the same night. 7:00 came back and was seated on 3rd floor. The bartender was our server, he was a bit too busy but answered all the questions we had for wine and food. Had the...More

Had a great dinner. Three of us order different meals and all were excellent. Waiter was familiar about requests for similar wines to what we favor. Atmosphere also very good. many different apps to chose from. No room for dessert.

I had so wanted to rave about this restaurant and looked forward to a great meal with family. The atmosphere was very nice and comfortable and on a Sunday evening, there were few patrons so the service was very good.... The food was just OK.......More

Visited for a special occasion on a strong recommendation. Service? Requested an appetizer with 4 portions rather than 3 (we were a party of 4 and would pay the extra) and the waiter refused. Ordered wine and waiter brought over different vintage and chose to...More

I don't know if the restaurant is open for Easter. As for nut allergies, I think the kitchen would be very attentive to any special requests or needs. There were not any dishes that I remember having peanuts. Almonds... More

Where laughter is required. Jacket & tie are not. Going out with friends or a special someone means choosing a neighborly place that feels as comfortable as home, where conversation flows as easily as a smooth cabernet. Welcome to Ceia Kitchen + Bar. A new kind of nightlife in the heart of Downtown Newburyport, introducing this area"s first extended kitchen hours for later night dining or tete-a-tete cocktails with flavorful small plates. Our exposed brick interior with mellow lighting, cozy banquets and featured cocktail bar beckon even impromptu visits to this reliable neighborly eatery where singles, dates and a posse of good friends are assured of a comfortable night out with delicious food and great company. The spirit of Ceia (pr. SAY-yah) is in the translation of our name: "supper" in Portuguese, the language of one country included among the inspiring stops of our coastal European culinary repertoire.
