Dear Liliana Thank you for your kind review of Bizen. It really means a lot to the ownership and staff when a customer acknowledges all the hard work and effort it takes to bring world class sushi to the Berkshires. That you got the fact that...More

We've only ever had incredible food at Bizen. However, we tend not to go because the service reminds us of the slightly snooty service we see at NYC restaurants. Our last visit was with friends and to be fair it was really wonderful - we...More

Dear rmcnamara2017 Thank you sincerely for your laudatory review of Bizen jaded however by the 'snooty' service you experienced. This is a dynamic that we are constantly evaluating in our commitment to evolve, mature and excel as a restaurant that has served the community now...More

Had a rather odd (bad) experience at Bizen Friday night. We were seated promptly and given the restaurants menu along with the specials menu for the day. The menu looked great, and each of the three of us quickly decided what we wanted to eat....More

Dear Lissapb Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant even though your feedback was abysmal at best. I wish you had spent more time, however in perusing our extensive menu which has never in our history been accused of not offering enough...More

We wondered into Bizen, not knowing what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to get our own dining room, sitting on the floor Japanese-style. There were a lot of great vegan items for our group-- one just needs to ask to be sure there's no...More

I was visiting with my sister. I would recommend reservations on the weekend. We ordered a Brussels sprout and a green pepper appetizer. They were a sample size and spicy which we weren’t prepared for. However the shrimp tempura was amazing and out 3 specialty...More

Bizen used to be a glorious, soulful, much-appreciated sushi restaurant in the local landscape but is now, inarguably, COMPLETELY unappetizing, due to their woeful indifference to basic upkeep. The white walls in the server’s stations and elsewhere are streaked with grey scum, lighting is caked...More

Bizen has been my go-to Japanese restaurant in the Berkshires since I discovered it back in the '90s. It's the only place I know of in the area that has a robata bar. You eat from hand-made earthenware in a peaceful setting (the rear area...More

Good to have a fine sushi purveyor in the very center of Great Barrington! Portions are good-sized, elegantly served, by good wait-staff. Decorations of the dining room add to the overall experience
