I go to the Hand & Trumpet a lot and always meet one of my old friends there every few weeks. My last visit was on February 15th. Whenever we go it is always busy and we always book to guarantee a table. The food is always well cooked and hot. Staff are always friendly and patient. Everywhere is clean... More

Beautiful setting as always. We arrived for a family lunch, I had haddock and chips. I want to say firstly how lovely and light the batter was and very well presented. However I was very disappointed to be served frozen chips and not homemade. The dish cost about £14 if not a little more, and for the cost of a... More

The hand and trumpet is a clean, friendly pub. It's a very nice setting for a meal. The are staff are friendly. The food is average I would not say it was anything special yet the prices are a little above what I would expect to pay for the food. I felt they cut corners in places like the stuffing... More

We've been to this very nice Cheshire pub/restaurant several times recently for family and personal events and on each occasion have been made most welcome by the friendly and efficient staff. Located in a pleasant Cheshire village, comfy well laid out seats and open fires give the pub a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.Tables are well-spaced and the resultant pleasant ambiance... More

Visited early on a Saturday evening – situated on the main road running through the village, there is a large on-site car park to the side & rear. Inside is bright and roomy (maybe not as hip 'n' trendy nowadays as others in this price range) still has some pub feel to it..... not just a restaurant, but, certainly not... More

We have been to the hand and trumpet many times but never wrote a review. Every time we visit the food is excellent quality and the service is great. The only downside is it is a little bit pricey so we tend to go for special occasions but we don't mind spending a little more for the quality. I can... More

Eight of us had dinner here a few weeks ago. It was a fairly quiet Friday evening and the service was good. Everyone's meal was fine - no complaints - but nothing was stunning. It wasn't very expensive at £40 a head for a 3-course meal but that included only 2 bottles of wine between eight of us.

Thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday lunch. Booked a table for a Sunday evening and me and my finance thought the food was lovely! Had 3 courses (although hardly had room for pudding). I ordered the beef Sunday dinner although I wanted the mixed pork and beef but they had run out of pork. So pleased with my choice as the amount... More

I have been a stalwart at the H&T for many years but can't help thinking that it's become a bit ordinary in the gastropub realm these days. Don't get me wrong, I'd never criticise it too much as you'll always get a perfectly satisfactory meal and some very good beer. The staff too are always friendly and welcoming but the... More
