My girls recently moved to Beverly and we went to the barrel house. Service: was top notch, and very knowledgeable about the drinks and meals Drinks: very creative over priced as usual Food: Poutine was amazing. I got the duck and it was cooked well but the sides we mediocre for the price. My girlfriend got the steak which was... More

I had been at this restaurant a couple of times when it first opened, it was OK but not terrific. We went about a month ago and I can say it has improved.

This is a joint that specializes in the most American of spirits: whiskey. They make a mind-numbingly good Old Fashioned (get it with Knob). The chops and entrees are great as well.

Great ambiance, serious cocktail menu and creative, varied menu! Our group had the short ribs, roasted salmon and the burger. All were happy. Wonderful Balvenie Doublewood 12 yr Scotch (rum cask) to end the night. Great service as well from Jamie!

A surprise! Location is warm and well furnished. Large selection of drinks, beers. Menu is not too large but very good (with some Louisiana touch). Suggest to share appetisers, do not miss lamb carpaccio and cheese plate. Any entrée is at good level depending on what you like. Service is also very good. Price could be a bit lower.....just think... More

I really do like this place. Love their inventive bourbon and rye based cocktails. I've had the cheese board and charcuterie plate. Super good. I had the vegetarian cassoulet. So good. Salads are fresh. It can get pricey with cocktails. The bar is a great place to sit. I have even stopped in solo to have a drink and never... More

This is a local favorite for me and my adult children. My son brought me here to introduce me to his girlfriend. Love the fact that there is no distracting tv, in the tradition of the best pubs. My daughter has loved some of the vegeterian specials, esp the grilled butternut squash steak with fennel and creme fraiche(put it back... More

After a show at the NSMT, my friend and I decided to have dinner at this relatively new restaurant in downtown Beverly. The ambiance was typical for what you would think an American bar would look like; simple bar with leather stools and brick facade. The drink list was overwhelming and decided to stick to the sparkling cocktail varieties. Both... More

First, I must say that I didn't choose this restaurant but was joining a group. They were mainly interested in drinking, and I don't drink, so I can't comment on that part of it. However, it seems to be very proud of it's expensive, foodie-type food, and I was not impressed. Many sauces, very artistic plating, but getting down to... More

First visit. Hoping for a good meal pre theater, got much better than that. Interesting menu, lots to choose from. We opted for fried chicken liver appetizer, which was tasty and lightly but safely cooked and with light sauce. Roast lamb dish was spectacular. Perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, lots of accompaniments on plate to add interest and make a... More
