If you are arriving by car via Solomons Island Road (2) don't let the storefront deter you. From the road it doesn't look too promising but you will be surprised upon entering the spacious and beautiful waterfront dining area. We ordered a dozen fried oysters and crab mac and cheese. The oysters were cooked perfectly.

I have lived in Maryland all my life. Maryland is all about crab cakes. No other place in the world serves crab cakes as good as they are in Maryland.Crab cakes are my favorite food. I have searched all of Maryland looking for the best crab cake. Stoney's premium crab cake is the best the best of the best. To... More

We've been to the Pier often and for years it was a place to go to enjoy the view of the river without getting wet or cold or hot or whatever was the negative element that day. Food, not so much. Recently though we've had two good meals there well served. The fried oysters were about as good as they... More

Locals suggested this place to us, but it was very disappointing. The place was almost empty, just two ther tables besides ours. Nevertheless, service was slow and inattentive. The bar tender poured our beers, placed them on the end of bar, and then we watched them sit there for almost 7 minutes before our server (what a misnomer) finally brought... More

I had the calamari for an app here which was pretty good, and the service was great. For my main meal I ordered a Caesar salad with steak on top. The salad was a giant pile of bitter iceberg lettuce with an overcook sirloin and weird tasting dressing. The other people I was eating with were not pleased with their... More

Years ago food was good. Now it is overpriced, lazy service, locals hangout which is not a friendly atmosphere. They are still riding their " best crab cake" rep from years ago. Their "famous" crab cake is bland and their enter menu is stale and tired. Waste of money.

When I am at Solomons Maryland, I enjoy having a crab cake sandwich and a beer. Stoney's Kingfisher restaurant is a great place to have this meal. The crabcake sandwich is well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. There is a good selection of draft and bottled beers. The waiter recommended brussel sprouts as an alternate to fries. They were good.... More

We were looking for a casual place to eat after a day of looking at lighthouses - we wanted something on the water - plugged that into the gps and it gave us several choices, we decided on Solomon's Pier after stopping at Drum Light. We ate upstairs and were able to watch the sun set with the bridge in... More

This is another great seafood restaurant in the area. We weren't there when soft shell crabs were in season, but I've heard they are really good here. I would recommend the crab balls though; they stand out in my mind above everything else I had.

I've eaten here a few times over the years. I have friends that live in the area, and we usually have dinner here at least one night. The food is excellent, and the portions are more than enough. I've tried several things on the menu, but my favorite is the fried seafood platter. It looks like they dropped the net... More
