Pros: The steak, fresh roasted cashews, freshly baked herbed bread, and baked potato were all very good. Between us we had 2 Filet Mignon and one special 22 oz. bone-in Ribeye. All were perfectly cooked to medium rare. The lightly spiced roasted cashews were a great palate starter. The freshly baked bread was good, but would have been better if... More

Three colleagues and I were entertained at The Classics. We had a private room. The room was sparsely decorated, the walls had scuff marks and the carpet stained. It felt more like a staff canteen room than a private dining room. Our server arrived, leaned over, resting on one of the empty chairs and proceeded with .... "welcome to our... More

Please read my overall comments below, but I will start with the food reviews. Almost before you are fully seated someone delivers rolls and butter. The rolls are good, but the butter was better - a little extra salty and just right! We tried the glazed bacon starter and it was excellent. My wife and I also split (the kitchen... More

My wife and I dropped in for an earlier dinner after a day sight-seeing in Washington. We sat in a booth and water arrived promptly. Our server was quite chipper. We both went for the half rack of ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs was a huge slab - moist and tender with a rich flavour. Too full for... More

Incredible value on the food there. I consider this to be the best steak for your money that you can get in the DC area. Granted, the atmosphere is not as fancy as some other city spots, but what you lose in ambiance you more than get back in food quality.

Have passed by The Classics for years we finally ventured there for a dinner/movie outing. The bar setting looked nice and cozy which we were led past into the dining room. It was clean but not much else in the way of decor other than some wine bottles on shelves. Watching the AFI theater marquee and all the people passing... More

I have been going to Ray's The Classics for more than 10 years now and always enjoy their steaks. The meat is of excellent quality; the sides are good and the wine list is appropriate. I enjoy going there from time to time for a good steak with a friend or two. I wish the decor was less bland but... More

Unfortunately this place didn't pass the test. It's real close to Fillmore so it's got the location and I was here last year (at the bar) and I remembered liking it then. However, we were a larger group so they put us at a big table on the fancier restaurant side. Not a problem. I ordered a beer and a... More

Our hamburgers are freshly-ground daily from premium cuts of steak and lightly hand-formed prior to grilling. We would have gladly replaced your hamburger with one that was... More

Beautiful and tasty New York strip steak. The grill cut is 10 oz and comes with mash potatoes and spinach for $17.99. It's worth the price!
