Wow! I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent despite the fact that it nestled in a strip mall with a sea of cars. The sushi was fresh. The wasabi was nice and spicy. The saki choices were excellent. The General Tso's Chicken was crispy, hot and sweet. very good. The staff is friendly and family oriented. They feel like... More

This was far from the first visit and I cannot wait to bring people back. Just had the best sashimi of my life. I ordered Chef's Choice premium sashimi and the pictures tell quite the story

I've been leery of Sushi in Owings Mills since my last time eating from another establishment left me underwhelmed (and thinking that the food was not fresh). This time, I asked a friend in the seafood industry (local supplier) which Sushi restaurants in my area were good quality -- without hesitation, he said "Sushi Ya." So, on a hot day..when... More

I was in the neighborhood so I decided to try Sushi Ya. Good move Eddie. I had the salmon bento dish and it was indeed better than other similar dishes I had in similar restaurants. The place is small but comfortable. Closed Monday. I will be back.

The food is consistently terrific, and the people (especially Jackie) are great. Suggest you try the peking duck appetizer, the Tropical roll, or the Bruce roll, among many others. Many many choices and I have never had one I did not like.

As an inveterate sushi restaurant diner,I always search for freshness in components,well-prepared standard dishes,a wide range of offerings in both sushi/sashimi as well as strong kitchen -prepared dishes. Sushi Ya has met the test consistently through the 20+ years since opening. Recently it has offered fusion dishes tending toward Thai cuisine, and offered some Chinese sauces wth chicken, pork, and beef dishes.Weekly,half... More

There are many wonderful sushi restaurants in the area, and this is among the best. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The food is beautifully prepared as sushi should be, and there are many options for rolls. As the menu has recently changed, some items are not listed, so perhaps I have an advantage over new customers. Favorite rolls are: Jade,... More

I've been to Sushi Ya numerous times some years ago, and twice recently. The taste of the sushi is ok, nothing special. They have some variety in rolls and they are trying now to be a litte more hip and fun, which I appreciate. The real downfall for me is the portion size. We regularly get sushi from another local... We had a great sushi dinner here. Interesting maki, very nicely selected and served fish. We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff. You can bring your own wine, too.
