Upon collection of my takeaway order tonight (20/8/21), I waited a good 25 minutes for the order after it was called by one of the girls to the chefs. Orders came and went but I had no where to be and I could see the...team was run off their feet so I didn't mind waiting in the slightest. Plus, I figured it was made to order so maybe I had a longer wait because it was so busy. The girls reassured me the order shouldn't be long and then when they checked again, the chefs claimed they didn't know I was there waiting for collection. Beats me as I saw one of the girls call the order for collection. The girl running the bar and keno (who was doing a bloody good job), went back and forth with me insisting I receive some compensation for the chefs error and the wait to which I declined as I certainly don't expect that and being fairly regular anyway, it certainly won't be a deterrent for us to return. Nonetheless, she vanished and came back again with two AMAZING (HUGE) brownies. 😍 How do you even begin to say no to such kindness when such a gesture is just placed down in front of you? You can't. Honestly, these girls were at no fault at all and I really was not worried as I knew it was mad busy (I had to park around the back which I haven't had to do before and there were no free tables just about). BIGGEST shoutout to Bec and Katie. You girls are what we need more of in this world. Good old fashioned customer service and incredible food every time. Looking forward to seeing you both when my partner and I are next in for a meal. Might even stay for a dessert next time if those brownies are on the menu. 🤤😋More

Have had many celebrations here, birthdays, anniverseries, etc, visitors and just a great night out. Service is always good and friendly. We have not had a bad plate and can only praise the meals

Ate here in the last few weeks. Not overly impressed with some of the staff, abrupt and surly, for some unknown reason, “Bad Hair Day” perhaps??? The meal I ordered was Cajun Chicken with sweet potato wedges, vegetables and a gravy/sauce of my choice. When...the meal arrived at my table I was a little shocked, a small to medium chicken breast sliced in half with a handful of wedges, 3 or 4 cut green beans, a small piece of broccoli and cauliflower with a couple of spoonsful of gravy. The meal was cooked OK and hot, tasted OK for the small serve of chicken. At $28, I thought it a bit steep but after looking again at the menu most of the meals offered, in my opinion, were overpriced for a country pub, more like Hobart prices, not worth the drive out!!!More

After feeling well greased from other local eateries we were pleased to have some lamb and veg and a squid salad. Both were fine and service was good. Probably 3 1/2 *, but hey, let’s err on the generous side

Went for dinner earlier this week. The young lady that looked after us was amazing, very attentive and really made us feel welcome. She couldnt do enough for us during the night. The meal was horrendous! Everything was overcooked and WAY OVER SALTED to the...point where it was inedible. A real let down!More

We went to the Dodges Ferry about 2 weeks ago now. The service was not particularly welcoming, loads of young staff who put loads of effort into looking busy but minimal effort into customer service. Great menu and good food however we were absolutely packed...in and it was making out entire table uncomfortable. There was NO though of social distancing whatsoever.More

Family and I dined here for Christmas Day lunch. $80 per adult and $35 per child. Staff were good during our meal, provided extra plates so children could share meals even though they were quite busy, had a laugh with us etc. Entree was a...big serving which is always good! Everything was going well until the main course. I opted for the Pork Belly for my main, vegetables were puréed like baby food surrounded the pork belly and had a disgusting flavour. The oil from the pork belly had settled around the purée making the flavour even worse. There was no crackling either to try and salvage the meal, (the best part). I approached the staff, plate in hand & I apologised and said there was no way I could eat the meal. I got a very disgusted look by the manager, no apology back and got asked if I was pregnant as she thought it was amazing..... luckily the younger staff realised her mistake and offered a replacement meal. I understand people will get defensive when they think the meal is amazing and I expected that when approaching them. But to outright ask a customer if they are pregnant to their face when they are politely giving feedback is outright rude and unprofessional. I will never dine there again.More
