We were outside, and it was lovely. We had made reservations because this is a popular restaurant. The food was delicious, our server was knowledgeable and answered our questions. There is German as well as American foods on the menu. Good numerous choices of German beer. A fun evening with friends.

Should have kept driving. Served us moldy bread - which we didn't pick up until we ate it. Very forgivable. Shows 'steak and frittes' as gluten-free - but they fry the fries with other breaded stuff. You can't do that stuff - this is about people's health for celiacs! Not as easily forgivable. Substituted 'double vegetables' for my son who... More

We go to the Old Stein Inn a LOT. Sometimes just for a Bier und a Wurst. Sometimes for dinner, Sometimes for special occasions (like Christmas Eve and it is just the 2 of us). We are always happy. Service is great. The German food is often a bit-liter than what I make at home, so overall, not as fattening!... More

We went on mother's day and because of the holiday we decided to make a reservation. It was crowded, but not packed and the restaurant had plenty of parking available for anyone that was dining with them. Inside there was a spacious dining area and decently sized bar, with lots of cool german decorations. There is a an outside beer... More

Our visit here was a trip down memory lane. We went with another couple that we have known since he and I were stationed together in Germany during the Cold War. Of course, living in Germany for almost three years we were exposed to some excellent German food and, as a result, are very critical of German restaurants elsewhere. While... More

I went here in hopes of finally finding somewhere near home with some decent Sauerbraten and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed the Short Rib Sauerbraten--the meat was tender and the gravy and cabbage were great. The fresh bread beforehand was a nice touch and excellent beer list was another bonus. My husband and I shared a beer flight,... More

The bar area on the back porch is fantastic. It's comfortable and feels like a German beer garden almost. There are heaters that keep the place cozy in the winter, even though it is also enclosed. The beer choices (and ciders) are extensive. It's a great place and next time we will try more than just appetizers and drinks. The... More

A great german Austrian restaurant with a great range of German Austrian beers and wines. The appetizers and main courses are delicious and would recommend any of them as they all delicious! The only thing I would skip is the apple strudel. It was a big let down and do not recommend it. All in all though it is a... More

I have a guilty secret...I've developed an addiction to the short-rib sauerbraten at the Old Stein Inn! I've been known to come in for a quick beer and sneak off with a full dinner to-go - the meat is moist and juicy, the gravy is the right amount of tart and thick, the dumplings are light but satisfying, and I...
