My husband and I dined here over Valentines Day weekend during our stay at Brampton B&B...and it was truly a great experience. My filet was cooked perfectly and the crab cakes were to die for! We loved the food and atmosphere so much we returned for Sunday brunch, which was also superb. We'll definitely be back!

This was our fourth time dining at The Imperial. Their service and food have always been superior. It is a small and rather romantic setting in downtown Chestertown. Reservations are recommended. Somewhat limited menu. Excellent meal.

We had brunch buffet and it was excellent. Raw Oysters, and almost everything you could think of. The staff was excellent and very friendly, but gave you space. Fantastic Bloody Mary Bar.

The Kitchen at the Imperial is a good upscale resturant here in Chestertown. A bit on the expensive side, but excellent service, understated atmosphere. Great Bartender in Rob.

David, thanks for the review. Glad you like the service and atmosphere, we worked really hard on both. Yes, Rob is fantastic! I do have to throw the penalty flag on the expensive comment however. Not only are my prices comparable to other restaurants you have reviewed in town, in many cases I am cheaper. Crab Soup, Cakes, Crab Dip,... More

Very well prepared lite fare. I like to eat outside at a table and take in the view on downtown. Dinner inside is also good. I had brunch once - very nice. In an old hotel next to the theater. Two blocks from the river. In the middle of the historic shopping area. The owner/cook Steve is a great guy... More

Celebrated our 17th anniversary and food was good, service very good and the ambiance quaint. Would recommend without hesitation and will visit again.

I had an excellent meal with co-workers. I tasted the Pan fried oysters and crab dip for apps - both delicious. For a main course, 16oz Rib Eye cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Washed it down with the highly recommended chocolate bread pudding - very rich, very chocolate, and probably best shared. I did not see the total bill... More

This is the second time I have eaten here, both times was during the Sultana Downrigging. Last year was a lot better and I take it they were having problems this year. The wait was long, and they seemed a bit short staffed. However, we made reservations early, and did not have as long a wait as other folks who... More

Thanks for the review great review! Yes, Downrigging is a challenge so extra thanks for being so understanding. It is one of the busiest days of the year and very easy to get overwhelmed, especially since staffing is always problematic for all of the restaurants in the area. Steve More

Steak Salad and Shrimp Salad, entree size, for lunch. Sounds easy, right? Big bowls, small salads, a few cranberries, a smaller amount of feta cheese, and mixed lettuce greens that were WELL passed their prime. No bread offered. This was at 2 in the afternoon on a Friday. The kitchen was hardly overwhelmed...as were we. The women's bathroom was clean... More

Diane, I can only apologize for your salad. Gordon showed up when I finished prepping downstairs and went to make a salad for someone else that day. The mixed greens that you were served were way past their prime and never should have been served. Staff member was just too lazy to walk downstairs and get more. He has other... More

The food, atmosphere and staff were amazing. I can not wait to return again. My husband and I were getting married the following day and enjoyed our time in Chestertown. Great restaurant.
