Shangri La is a Fine Dining Restaurant, located near Metro Station, Bethesda, MD. Ii is just one block away across the road from Hyatt Regency. They serve nice and hot Indian food. You have option to choose a’la carte menu or order a Thail (platter), which is what I did. The proportion is generous, Ingredients used are fresh, and as... More

Their chicken dumpling is to die for. The most feeling dumpling I ever had in D.C. Metro area. Masala tea is a plus. Service is outstanding and manager is super helpful and welcoming. Loved this place. Will visit again soon.

Found this place next to my hotel. I was at this place with my family on our D.C. Vacation. My kids are fan of Indian food and decided to try Shangri-la. Butter chicken with garlic Naan was fantastic. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Loved it!!

This place is around the corner from the Residence Inn Downtown Bethesda. We had the non vegetarian chef special lunch. The portions were small and we had to order extra rice 🍚 and were charged for it! The food was delicious. The service was so so. Do recommend for a quick quiet lunch. The honey garlic shrimp was tasty but... More

Close to my hotel, I tried this after a long day with a client. I like the variety on the menu and the quality of my first meal means I will return to try additional options. It's basically Indian cuisine with a nod to Nepalese. I had the duck appetizer - delish! Garlic naan was nicely prepared, not soggy or... More

I was visiting Bethesda with my sister and decided to go to Shangrila for dinner. I order fish tika (salmon) and my sister order lamb rogan josh. Both entrees were just perfect. We tried their chicken dumpling as appetizer and they were so delicious. Our server was so nice and helpful. Hoping to visit shangrila soon.

Very extensive menu and fantastic service gives this restaurant an excellent rating. We ordered the sampler appetizer and got to try some different items that we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Each entre is served in a little copper hot pot, which was a nice touch and kept the food hot throughout the meal. Coupled with great prices, it's worth a... More

In our ideal restaurant classic vegetarian dishes would be made from locally grown organic produce effused with Indian and Nepalese spices. Meats would be cooked high over hot charcoal in a tandoor (a traditional clay oven) allowing fats to drain, thereby lowering their cholesterol content. He would cook with olive oil, make his own yogurt and bake bread as ordered. Shangrila restaurant would serve the simple fresh, organic, flavorfully spiced foods that a mother would cook if she came from New Delhi or Katmandu.
