The Maine Diner has the tastiest seafood chowder EVER. The spices are minimal but it is all the seafood chowder needs. The chowder does not have a thick milk base, just thick enough. The amount of fish is plentiful no matter what size you get. We...More

Nice little diner. Seafood chowder and muffins were very good. And I think the desserts are homemade. The chocolate cake was delicious.

Restaurant was filled with people but we were promptly seated and waited on. We had She-Crab soup that was awesome. Also crab cakes were very good. Would go there again.

Breakfast anytime during the day can't be beat. Love the corn muffin and ask for it to be grilled. Lunch and dinner also great. Super diner food and local Maine seafood favorites too. Fast and great service. I really like eating at the the Maine...More

Every time we go here the food is delicious. The service, however, is always always mediocore. We always feel like we are bothering the wait staff. If the service could match the food, we would recommend it more.

Every time we are in Maine we always visit the Maine Diner. Great food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you have to wait for a table (usually the case during prime season), visiting the souvenir shop is a great way to pass the time.

Been there several times for breakfast and once for lunch. Everything was cooked perfect. I am fussy about omelets, very good. Lobster roll is excellent.

I don't understand what the hype is about this place other than it was on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We waited over an Hour to be seated and the food was just OK, nothing to write home about that's for sure, just average food...More

Get the pie! We each ordered a different flavored slice and passed the plates. Dinner - the salad, mashed potatoes, and green beans are wonderful. One of us ordered breakfast for dinner - it's always available. One ordered She-Crab soup (cream chowder with a splash...More

I don't think that they use boxed eggs. I think that many restaurants cannot make good scrambled eggs, because they make them on the grill and scrambled eggs need to be made in a frying pan to turn out right.
