Once a year when visiting family we have a tradition of dining at "Uncle Don's". I have never had a meal that I didn't like there. However, there are usually one or two in the party that are disappointed. This year it was my wife who's portion of fried haddock was small and thin... and my aunt who's turkey dinner... More

We regularly visit "Uncle Don's" when in Scarborough, and always have a great meal. But we lucked into "last night of the season" Columbus Day weekend, and the great food (don't miss the drool-worthy pies!!) was paired with a fabulous sing-along that had us in stitches. A night to remember.😆

We were passing by on the way to Portland and stopped for lunch. The restaurant had that very quaint atmosphere with knotty pine walls. I had the lobster stew and my husband had a hamburger platter. Both were excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. A nice gentleman came to our table to greet us and asked how everything... More

I am on a solo bicycle tour on the main coast and the Spurwink Country Kitchen was near me. I spend USD 10 /day for lunch and yesterday I did not eat so that I would have double the budget to spent today. It is raining today and I chose Spurwink as they were the closest to me. I read... More

Don't get me wrong, the two previous owners ran this once great country inn into the ground and chased away most of their numerous customers. The current owner, Don started out to restore the food quality too it's former greatness but something happened along the way. It is just not up to par (taste, quality, portion size or price wise)... Not only was the food phenomenal, the entire staff became family before we left. Despite every thing we've experienced today, Uncle Roy's was the absolute highlight. We happened upon it and so glad we did.

Food was terrible and way overpriced. Turkey dinner $17.50 was 2 slices of turkey luncheon meat over tiny bit of soggy stuffing, mixed veggies were nothing bit mush! Chicken pot pie was nothing but finely shredded chicken, one very small carrot. The whole meal was a disaster. Same on Uncle Don for allowing this to be put on ANY table. We... More

We have eaten here several times. The owner, Uncle Don is a great guy! This is not fancy but great straight up food. Go for the chowder, lobster roll and a piece of homemade pie. All are outstanding.
