Walking in everything felt very fresh and clean - it almost looked to me as if they had just opened only in the last two weeks. The space is a bit more intimate, there's not a ton of tables and that's perfect for taking either some good friends or a romantic date to. The food is fantastic! Everything is focused... More

No need to pick through the menu to find something you can eat. Everything is vegetarian. A good many are vegan. This place gets crowded and can be tight and a bit noisy at times. My only complaint. Otherwise, anything on the menu is delicious and has an Asian flair.

We stopped here while traveling to Bar Harbor. The food is just wonderful. Lovely little place in the heart of Portland (I guess?). Parking was easy on a weekday in mid-May. Great vegan and vegetarian options with Thai flavors.

I eat at the Green Elephant frequently. The staff are great. The menu offers lots of vegetarian options, mostly of an Asian or Indian flavor. The restaurant can get quite busy at times (summers in general), weekends throughout the year. Arrive early or wait. I don't like everything on the menu, but I've tried almost everything. Tempeh never does it... More

Was hesitant at first, but fell in love at first bite. Great food, great service, even better desserts!

I planned my visit after hearing several raving reviews from friends living in northeastern USA. The green curry was delicious - you get to choose between levels one to four for spiciness. I've only tried one dish but I'm quite sure this place could convince my meat loving friends that roots and shoots can taste wonderful. Great service too!

OK, my wife chose this place for veggie choices, I went along (after checking reviews). I let her choose the entrees, which of course she loved. To my surprise, I was delighted as well!

This place is all vegetarian so tons of stuff for veg fans to choose from. I had a very tasty Thai ginger noodle dish with tofu, which was very good. I would eat here again if I was in Portland and would recommend a stop.

We stopped in for lunch on a rainy Saturday and had such good food. My husband had the Pad Thai, and I had the Fried Brown Rice with pineapple and vegetarian "meat" that had the taste and texture of chicken breast. The prices are reasonable ($31 for the two of us) and the restaurant is very clean (including bathrooms). Service... More

The food was so delicious. My husband and I are vegetarians/vegans and we found things that we thought were amazing to eat. The waiter was so kind and friendly. We would have gone back 10 more times had we stayed there longer. Highly recommended!
