My wife and I took the time to walk down here after dinner to spend our money. When we arrived the sign said closed for the season. They could at least have the decency to update the store hours on Trip Advisor so customers are not inconvenienced by wasting their time getting here.

We had ice cream in 2 different places in Portland and both were excellent . Something about the local milk makes it exceptional

Really good ice cream in waffle cones & bowls that are really good too. Great selection of flavors and a great little spot in town at the port.

Very popular when the weather is warm, Beals sells quality, hand-dipped ice cream in a large range of flavors. A great place to stop for a late dessert after walking your dinner off...

On my recent road trip through Maine, I have been sampling ice creams as it was perfect weather during the day for them. I came up on this place when walking through Old Port. I got a single scoop blueberry ice cream. It was yummy and full of blueberry flavor and not too sweet. The single scoop was good value... More

My friends and family know of my penchant for good ice cream. We were told of this place on our first visit to Portland 5 years ago. Now when we make our annual trip to the area Beals is on the top of our list. The ice cream has all the hallmarks of the real thing. It's creamy, dense, and... More

We were walking back to our cruise ship and we stumbled upon this ice cream shop. They had the most unique flavors and the most fresh ice cream. I had peppermint stick. It wasn't too sweet. Perfect!!!

This ice cream parlor is the bomb. If there is a line don't worry it moves fast. They have seating inside and outside.

This ice cream shop is some awesome great goodness. The flavors are many and the prices are good. The blueberry, black raspberry, banana cream pie, coffee, woo pie pie, and coconut chip are amazing. Keep in mind they are cash only and don not provide public facilities. So when in Portland leave room for Beals. A must go Tomorrow!

A great stop for something sweet after dinner. They have approx. 40-50 flavors, mostly traditional/old fashioned with a few creative new ones. Lots of options for cones, dishes, etc. Very family friendly.
