Have dined here before and never had a bad experience. We had the Chef's Tasting Menu with Wine Pairings and every dish was exquisite and the wine choices perfect. Service was excellent, especially given the number of dishes and glasses we went through. It's not a cheap place but go there for a special occasion, you won't be disappointed.

My wife's retirement, the waiter brought us comped champagne to start the night, explained the menu, I had the chefs tasting, and was not disappointed. Each of the seven courses was extraordinary, the wait staff was attentive and explained each dish, my wife was thrilled, a true five star rest in portland

Had a nice dinner there with good options for an upscale but not weird culinary experience. Food quality was good, portions appropriate and a nice and diverse menu with clearly recognizable ingredients and preparations. Nothing wrong with a nice solid set of offerings. The decor is a bit dated and because we weren't regulars we got seated in a balcony... More

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed your dinner. However, we would certainly want everyone to understand that we would never treat any customer differently, no matter where they came from! Although you may not have enjoyed it, the balcony seating is our most requested seating in the house and reserved for reservations and special... More

Hello, We appreciate you taking the time to let us know you were unhappy with your dinner. We do have the servers bring the menus to our guests instead of the host, so that they are able to explain the style of service and tasting menus, but it never should have taken that long! We have already discussed it at... More

Had dinner with a group of colleagues and really enjoyed the ambiance and service at Five Fifty-Five and was quite happy with the food. The restaurant is on two floors and offers a variety of nice comfortable corners for dining, in a comfortable classic brick-walls, dark-wood and white table-cloths atmosphere. The menu seems to be based on local items done... More

My friend took me here for my birthday and I was treated like royalty. There was a lovely 'Happy Birthday' note on our table. Several people came by to wish me 'Happy Birthday' but they avoided that tacky loud singing. Of course, the food was the highlight. We opted for the five course tasting menu. My friend and I ordered... More

The food was really really good, and the service was too. It was just my wife and I for an anniversary dinner and were there for over two and a half hours. It was very relaxing, and we did the al La carte with the servers choice. Plus a wine pairing with each dish. It was great choice and more... More

I was more disappointed with the value then the actual dinner at 555. The service was very good as was the atmosphere. I started with the beef tartare, which had an off-putting presentation and quite a bit of gristle. My dinner, a fresh pasta dish, was nice. I finished with cheese and grappa. Overall, with the exception of the tartare,... More

Thank you for your feedback. We will use your review to improve our offerings, as a matter of fact, the chef contacted me this morning telling me he was changing the tar tar based on the review. As you seemed to enjoy everything else but one dish, including the service and ambiance, we hope you will come back again, Regards,... More

My wife, daughter, and grandson enjoyed a very nice dinner at 555. Located just down the street from the Westin we were able to avoid the evening rain showers with a short block and a half walk ... we made a good choice. We had reservations at 6:45pm and were promptly seated in the bar area which was energetic on... More
