We had the bakers dozen oysters, that was delicious. I had the broiled scallops casserole. $25 for 6 scallops and a side salad. Very disappointing! We will be back for the oysters.

Was at J's last week. Lunchtime and sat at the bar with wife. Had excellent steamers. She had the crab salad and I had the lobster salad. We appreciate that the crab and lobster came w/o and dressing and were good sized portions with cole...More

Try the scallops with butter and honey. This is a small place, recommended by hotel and another guest. We sat at the bar and enjoyed delicious food and warm and friendly conversaton with staff and patrons.

Popular, crowded, noisy but great food. I would recommend going there during non-peak periods. Service was pleasant and timely.

Try the oyster combinations, but you will find like many that the Maine ones are better than the Virginia ones. Lobster roll! Best value!!

A bit overpriced but all are like this in the area. This one felt like it was more than others. Get the Maine oysters vs the Virginia they are bigger.

I am sorry to say but this place really let me down. I ordered the Morney oysters and clam chowder and was very disappointed with both. The Morney oysters lacked flavor, were spongy and not appealing. The clam chowder was average, at best. Sorry to...More

Excellent food and service was wonderful. Place is small and wait wait was tolerable. Can’t imagine being their “ in season “ when the wait would be a problem. Will definitely be back

All I can say is that I've never noticed a dog in J's.

No. And it gets pretty crowded on weekend evenings. When you arrive, give your name to the staff by the register inside the main entrance; they will put you on a list.
