Looking for a good lobster roll, we headed to a place which apparently went out of business. A local was unloading supplies next door so we asked where we we should go. He pointed us to Susan's Fish N Chips. No frills, no muss, no fuss! The "lobstah" rolls we served on a small bun, stuffed with lightly dressed lobster,... More

It's the best place in the city for seafood the long as you're not hung up on atmosphere. Actually it's lack of atmosphere has become it's own form of atmosphere. Oh booths and picnic tables gives Susan's its own style of ambience. Once you get past that be prepared to settle In for the best seafood, the best price and... More

It is a funky place--but the food is excellent. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It's a must stop when my family visits from out of state.

An absolute hidden gem if you love seafood. Horrible to find but worth the jaunt. We met Susan and she is a wonderful soul who knows seafood and makes you feel very welcome. We saw this on Phantom Gourmet and decided to try it out on our way back from PEI. We loved it - best fried clams I can... More

We had read good reviews for this place and were also referred by the staff at the hotel we stayed at. Getting around Portland is no easy task but we were determined to find the restaurant and had high hopes. I ordered a lobster roll which was recommended by the hotel staff and was very disapointed on the first bite:... More

We were on the hunt for fried oysters, and Susan's did not disappoint. It was like eating right on a dock or on a ship - ambience was rugged but perfect for the occasion for us. This is not a fancy, sit-down, fine dining experience. This is a place for common folk. But those are often the best places. The... More

Two visits under my belt for fried clams and fried oysters. Both done perfectly. From the outside, the place doesn't look like much, its attached to a car repair garage. Parking is in front, off the street, but small. It's a no frills place but they do fried seafood really well. I can't speak to anything else on the menu... More

Stopped here on our way back to the Midwest. We had the fried clams which where quite tasty and the lobster roll and fries. This was my first lobster roll and if this is what a lobster roll is suppose to be it's my last. I would try somewhere else if you are looking for your first lobster roll. The... More
