Was recommended by folks at Oxbow Brewing. This quaint little place has a simple but interesting menu. Had the poutine and it was one of the best ever. The daily specials looked awesome and the Sazerac was on point.

I've been many times and on this occasion a friend joined me who'd never been. We arrived just after 8 am on a weekday and there was already a short line, but we got seated right away at a nice corner spot a bit away from the front window and a greater distance from privileged millennials with noisy offspring. "Betsy"... More

There's nothing about this meal that I would change. From the friendly service to the fabulous food, we could not have been more pleased with our dining experience at Hot Suppa. We started off with the pimento cheese and calamari appetizers, which were just the right size and savory deliciousness. The corn and shrimp chowder was rich and creamy and... More

This is a small place and the line gets long so go early! I loved their corned beef hash and my Mom enjoyed her breakfast burrito - and was grateful to have ordered the sauce on the side since it was pretty spicy! (and that was the "milder" one). Service was friendly and competent.

We have tried to go to Hot Suppa several times but found a line so didn't wait. Last week, though, we went for an early dinner and found no crowd. We were there in time for Happy Hour $1 oysters so we started with them. The oysters were fresh and very good. We both had the shrimp and grits which... More

I've seen the future of oysters......and they live....at Hot Suppa! Okay, so that was a complete and total riff on the famous Jon Landau/Springsteen thing, but I am not kidding in that if you are in Portland, and you're looking for an Oyster experience....no less in the city of Oysters....well....they live on Congress Street. That..is really just the beginning of... More

I haven't had fried green tomatoes and grits in years! This was absolutely delish!! The sliced fruit salad was excellent as well. The code on the bathroom door was a little weird but the food is excellent.

It was suggested I try Hot Suppa by a local when I came to visit. Totally worth it. The food was incredible and the small atmosphere was not too crowded. Wait staff friendly and kind. I must come back for dinner sometime! 5⭐️

Great breakfast, longish wait (49 minutes) to be seated. Great Irish coffee and 3 egg scramble with chèvre & Carmelized onion. Conveniently located a short walk from Westin a Hotel. We've visited this breakfast place 2 yrs Ina row. I wouldn't consider waiting this long with children.

Four of us recently went to dinner around 530 pm on a Sat. Restaurant does not have parking so husbands dropped us off to get a table while they searched for parking. There were 4 empty tables in the restaurant when we arrived. Hostess wouldn't seat us until all 4 of us present, even though we told her our husband's... More

The menu at Hot Suppa is all made from scratch from quality ingredients; local goods are used whenever possible. Our renowned breakfast and lunch are served seven days a week, so you can get that corned beef hash fix whenever you’re jonesing. Dinner is available five nights a week, featuring our favorite dishes, like fried chicken & a waffle, falafel salad, and Maine oysters on the half shell. We offer a full bar service if you care to relax into the evening with a Porch Swing cocktail, or recover in the morning with a spicy Bloody Mary or cold draft beer.
