We stopped here most of the nights during my family's week stay in Old Orchard Beach. These Pier Fries were very delicious and there were so many for the price. My family loved these fries. So, if you looking for something quick to eat, you...More

I had the crinkle-cut fries and they were tasty. This is a take-out joint and very unassuming. I wouldn't say the fries were anything special and could have been a little more fresh. There are so many people visiting that they are continually producing mass...More

The fries are very bland and the attitude from the kids behind the counter bordered on complete indifference. Not quite sure what all the fuss is about but to each his own I guess.

Heard it was the best place for fries. Lines were long so we were hoping for the best. They are fresh made to order but not the best I've had. They are good though. Would recommend and would stop again if in the area.

I am a fry fanatic, so on my trip to OOB this was an essential stop! The fries were thick and meaty. Tried with the salt & vinegar-it was very tasty. And I love that they are crinkle fries. Nobody does crinkle fries anymore. And...More

Are your fries gluten free because I don't think I can visit oob without having pier fries!!! I assume the fries are but wondering if anything else is fried in that oil besides potatoes? Love pier fries - first thing we get when we arrive at oob :)

I know the fries are gluten free, they actually advertise that. I would like to say that because they publicly make that claim, they don't make anything else in the same oil but you would have to ask them directly.
Dear Jim E, We enjoy and appreciate the many comments and opinions from our thousands of annual customers. We are always looking To improve any aspect of our business from thoughts, both good and/or bad, from all of the patrons that visit us at Pier Fries every year. But you sir, have crossed the line. And because of this... On the rare instance this happens... I feel the need to respond to your post. Your hurtful comment of our "greed"... And how we have somehow compromised our quality of our product to benefit our business is both flat out wrong as well as irresponsible on your part. We hand cut EVERY SINGLE potato that comes into our shop... And your suggestion that something has changed recently in our 80+ years of business is quite frankly... A joke. I am writing this to defend my family and the 20+ young men and women who work for us, that tirelessly work their tails off to provide, what we hope, is the BEST product that can be sold. To that point... I invite you to come to our facility... Cut a 150lb barrel of our "frozen fries" for yourself... And I in turn will be happy to pay for your finished box of Pier Fries, out of MY own "greedy" pocket. Any... Time... You ... Would...like. We apologize if the order you had was not up to par. We try, with every single order, to make them the best experience EVER. And if this was not the case... Please... Come see me or my wife... And we will be thrilled to make it right. But to suggest that our "GREED" is involved in your batch of Pier Fries...????? We appreciate ALL suggestions and opinions about our business. And we hope to learn from each one of them. However, when you see fit to acuse me, my family and the ridiculously hard working young employees we have of being "greedy" and serving a product that is anything but the best potatoes, oil, salt, ketchup and anything else that makes us "Pier Fries" with no knowledge to the truth.... That is when I will respond with aggressiveness... To the great Place that we are. ....... Next time... Get your facts in order, before you decide to degrade a great Maine ICON... That we still are. A well written response to some unappreciative customer. Consumers have taken the motto "the customer is never wrong" too far! And I know how hard it is to find good help, I admire Allan's defense of his employees. I look... More
