We had a bad experience here, and we won't be going back. We waited about 45 minutes to get our appetizers (mixed green salad and mussels). I ordered grilled salmon with parsnip and pear puree. I specifically mentioned that I didn't want the special (grilled salmon with root vegetables and spinach). The server brought to me the special, and then... More

The online menu listed items as vegan that were not. It took 30 minutes to get water and 35 minutes to get tea. The toast that came with the meal never materialized. An hour after being seated the waitress asked if we still wanted the croissant ordered with the tea. The food was so-so. 2 of our guests left because... More

The Roost was so good from service right down to the food. The waitress knew exactly what to recommend and was accommodating when one ingredient was not a favorite. She offered an alternative cheese for a stuffed chicken dish. That also let us know the food was made to order. One of the nightly specials was Haddock stuffed with crab,... More

My wife and I have vacationed at Wells beach for some 20 years and we frequent Ogunquit because it offers so much in the way of food and entertainment. When Roost moved in it quickly became our favorite. The food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is professional and friendly. Rob and Aldo, the proprietors of this... More

We had to stay in Ogunquit during the offseason so finding our favorite restaurants was a problem. Fortunately for us The Roost was open. We were greeted at the door by both owners who were very welcoming. They informed us that they had hired a pastry chef and would be re-opening the on-site bakery. We were shown to our table... More

My wife and I had a very good breakfast at the Roost Cafe. It was plentiful and very good, but the service was very slow and was not offered a refill on my coffee. The waiter took our order, someone else delivered the order. Then saw the waiter again when we were done. No coffee or tea refills in between.

Hi Liquor 343, we are glad the you enjoyed the meal, but we are also disappointed that the service was poor. The waiter was actually an owner who had to fill in because our regular, professional waiter had sliced his finger at home and had several stitches and has not been able to work for many day. We do apologize... More

One of our favorite rides on our motorcycle is to the coast of Maine. Easter Sunday we met up with relatives for brunch at the Roost. Hosts Rob and Aldo were busy greeting a steady flow of customers, but always have time to chat for a moment. I had my favorite Maine Lobster Florentine Benedict and it was perfect, as... More

I can't say enough about this lovely establishment. My husband and I were staying at Cliff House to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to take a break from the hotel and I am sure glad we did.
