Thank you so much for your kind review. Indeed it can be joyfully noisy during busy times - less so in the Snug, but if it's packed, there will be the sound of high-volume activity. We open at 4 pm, and the volume is way...More

We had dinner here based on a recommendation from a friend. The food was delicious, in an Irish pub atmosphere. I was expecting pub grub or "Irish fare". I had the baked haddock which was deliciously sweet and perfectly cooked. My friend had the baked...More

Very friendly, accommodating and the food is pub fare with a twist. My friend had the shepherd's pie that included summer squash and zucchini. He said he was skeptical but once he tried it; he declared that it was "really very good". They do know...More

Lovely, Irish-pub atmosphere. We ate in the "snug" but could still hear (and see) the Irish music in the main room. Apparently there is live Celtic music most weekends. Dinner was very good. Enjoyed the Smithwick's ale on tap. Nice, friendly place.More

An authentic Irish pub in the heart of the Lakes Region. Created in the spirit of country pubs in southern Ireland, the owner, from Waterford, Ireland, assures us that the tradition and ambiance of a true ‘public house’ is presented to each guest that visits ‘the Bear.” The staff are each trained to pour a perfect pint, great food is delivered from the tiny kitchen, including local favorites like Fish ‘n Chips, steaks, salads, seafood, burgers, and amazing desserts. Ask your server about vegetarian and gluten free options too.
