We were in Dixfield to visit my wife's nieces and nephew and frankly that would be the only reason we ever go there. Off the beaten path, nice little town but that's it. But... now we have another reason, the Front Porch cafe. We stopped by for breakfast on our way out of town and wished we had known about... More

We had the good fortune to have Sammie Angel, the owner of this restaurant, sing a Gospel concert at our church in August & she was wonderful. Friends had told us about her restaurant & that it was really good. We finally had the opportunity to try it for breakfast this week....we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is really a... More

I have eaten at this restaurant 4 times now and in addition to the excellent food for an extremely affordable price, the people who work there are friendly and personable and truly make for a first-rate Maine dining experience.

One of our family members who lives in the area has been raving about this place for a number of years; it is sort of his home away from home. We ended up having both lunch and breakfast there--quick lunch of American chop suey which was pretty good; served with homemade rolls (choice of white or wheat) which tasted a... More

We stopped here on our way back from a tour of the waterfalls around the Rangeley area. The atmosphere and staff were delightful. Good home style food at nice prices. If you stop on the way TO the waterfalls, they have a very well thought out map with directions to each.

We were on our way home from Bethel and had gone up to Coos Canyon. Rosie at the rock shop recommended it to us. We were greeted warmly by Angel and seated ourselves. A very nice waitress took our orders and then we got up to look at all the decorations! We had very good hamburgers and enjoyed a leisurely... More

The Front Porch Cafe was our intended destination (from Auburn, 40 miles to the south) and we were richly rewarded. This establishment, located in 'the only one' Dixfield, is a one and only type of place. Staff and atmosphere -- welcoming, warm and cheerful. Menu offerings and fare -- plentiful, stick-to-your-ribs comfort food, and extremely satisfying. Decor -- both inside... More

Place is very nice. A little crowded when busy but overall the Breakfast was good but service a little on the slow side.

This is a cozy little restaurant with a very reasonable price tag. Although the menu is small they offer decent food in a cozy country setting.

Stopped for lunch on the way home from a weekend at Rangeley Lake. Warm, homey space with eclectic decor. Yummy home-cooked dishes and friendly staff! Adding this one to our list of "musts" for trips up North.
