We had not yet tried this restaurant in our new locale, and had relatives coming for lunch, so that made it a good opportunity. They are closed two days during the week during winter, so we missed our chance a previous day. The welcome was warm, the food delicious, and locally sourced. Unfortunately, there was only one person present that... More

We had lunch there and enjoyed the haddock chowder and meatloaf. The food was fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. The setting in a former church is interesting as is the rotating artwork.

We thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience at Savory Maine. The fact that the restaurant was once a small, intimate, simple church was charming, and it has been beautifully restored. The fact that the food is mostly sourced from local organic farms (listed in detail on the back of the menu) was also a huge plus for us. We are... More

Damariscotta is developing quite a restaurant scene but this little gem stands out both for atmosphere and food. I had the finnan haddie, which is a risky thing to order in New England. Savory's version of this traditional dish is lighter and fresher without sacrificing the comfort food feelings of this 12th generation Yankee.

Had planned to eat Thai-but the Thai was closed. So we headed just up Main St, took a right and had a great meal. We were welcomed into this former chapel by the owner, who is passionate about local, and sustainable food. We each enjoyed Haddock Chowder with a delightful whole meal biscuit. Then came the mains. Garlic chicken for... More

Good homemade food by the chef/owner. Some of the recipes were her mothers and some hers but they all have the fresh make tasty quality. The embiance was sweet as it is a converted old church, soft music in background so you can hear your neighbor! What a concept! I wish the menu were a bit broader.

Great selection of healthy and gluten free items! Tasty and reasonably priced! I had the chicken salad on gluten free bread. The dill cucumbers were so good. Friendly server!

We had lunch at Savory Maine on our vacation to the midcoast. It was a beautiful day so we ate on the deck and enjoyed the water and town view of Damariscotta. Inside there is a lovely art gallery decorating the restaurant. Loved how the old church pews were used throughout the seating. I had the Tempeh Reuben which was... More

. We had dinner here and were surprised to be the only diners. Obviously others already knew what we learned the hard way. The meals were pretentious and overpriced. To top it off, our server was overzealous and insisted on conversing with the four of us for much of the hour we were there. The servings were tiny and not,... More

We had a lovely lunch here on a breezy summer afternoon. The food was delicious. Everyone could find something here - options included meat, fish, vegetarian, gluten free. We didn't actually see the inside of the restaurant, because we had our dog with us, so we sat outside overlooking the water. But we'll definitely be back.
