SEafood lovers delight. Lots of atmosphere on Bernard side of Bass Harbor. May be long lines for dinner.

We've gone several times last year and our final time or 2016 was in September. We can't wait to return around Memorial Day weekend. You pick the size lobster you want from the tank. The lobsters are divided into tanks by size. They aren't the quiet, non-moving lobsters. They put up a fight as they were caught only hours before... More
We've been going to Maine every few years for the past 35 years, and lobsters have gotten pretty pricey, even at the lobster pounds. I like Thurston's because of the location and atmosphere. However, I didn't think the lobster was that great this time & a little pricey. Two modest size lobster dinners with sides & 1 beer for $50.00.
LOBSTER LOBSTER LOBSTER!!! Eat in or take away (as they say in Maine)! It is a lobster pound not a fancy restaurant but they have a bar area and tables overlooking the water. We come for the lobster and lobster rolls and have never Been disappointed. We discovered Thurstons 2014, returned in 2015 and 2016 and plan on going back... More
A local told us to order our lobster roll toasted with no mayonnaise. So we did and boy oh boy, delicious! The Lobster rolls are large enough to share! So tender and fresh. We sat out on a screened porch overlooking the water with many Lobster boats! Save room for desert! We had the blueberry ice cream and blueberry cake.... More
We visited Thurston's twice this summer. Very relaxing location and atmosphere. It's a bit a way from the frenzy of some parts of Acadia, so a bit less stressful. There are plenty of seats for you to use after you order your food, so there's no need to Table Shark. We especially enjoyed the lobster roll. Very simple and you... More
This was our first time at a lobster pound and it was quite an experience. They definitely do not skimp on the lobster. There was tons of good meat in our lobster rolls. They know what they're doing and they do it well!
This place was recommended to us by our hotel mgr. and was definitely a great recommendation.. My only con about this is finding it . It definitely was a long drive but once we got there, the food was great.. we had cream of halibut soup which was fabulous and then the lobster of course was delish.. Place is like... More
We arrived just as the full moon was rising across the bay, reflecting its light over and between the bouy-moored fishing boats. Lovely setting for this dock-side restaurant. Actually, this Lobster pound is more of a picnic scene, than restaurant. It featured picnic tables, a line up for ordering food and a steady rotation of guests. Nevertheless, wait time was... More

Confused about lobster by the pound. Website says 1.79 per pound. How many pounds is a normal lobster. Is the 1.79 for a fresh lobster out of the tank?
