We always have a trip to see the bridges whenever we are in Scotland and the Hawes is right under the rail bridge. It is a good places to stop for a meal with lovely food at very reasonable prices, and there is always the connection to RL Stevenson for the literary amongst us.

Visited with family and was disappointed. The lady who greeted us was far from welcoming, no greeting, no smile. The young man who looked after us was quite the opposite and was very pleasant. The menu has a lot of strong flavours which don't suit everyone and lacked some staple favourites which are a good safetynet. One of our party... More

The menu at the Hawes Inn is OK, the service helpful and, with the exception of the scallops which were overcooked, the food was well prepared and presented. The Inn has a great location below the Forth Bridge and has a traditional feel. However, the seats were dirty and the whole environment was in need of smartening up and some... More

Hi Brian . Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's great to read all the positive things you have written. It's disappointing to read your comments of the interior , this is something we will pass on and try to keep on top of stall times. Thanks Team Hawes More

Whilst there was a local charity abseil on at the same time, which registration in the pub, we were still greeted with a friendly face and told they would be able to take us as well as where we could park up our bikes.... We really enjoyed our night stay and our dinner in this traditional Pub. The food is excellent, well prepared with a nice presentation. The waitress was very nice and helpful. After dinner we could spend a moment in the confortable armchairs with a glass of single malt. Very relaxing moment.

Walked over the Forth road bridge from Fife and rewarded ourselves with a visit to this super old pub. Fine real ale. Love the flagged floors perfect for my collie dog to lay on and cool down. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious seafood & vegan lunch. Service was a little slow, but food was totally worth the wait as everything was freshly cooked and fabulously presented
