We ate at the Jefferson Cafe as part of a group of 26. The Cafe normally closes after lunch, but we had arranged them to cater our group for an evening meal. All the staff were outstanding and the food was equally good. I would highly recommend Cafe Jefferson for a large group or small.

This restaurant is located in the main visitor center. The food is good andthe view of Lake Piegnor makes lunch here a must. I enjoy their gumbo and muffelatos. Their desserts are also delicious.

We stayed in one of the B&B units on site and ended up ordering our dinner to eat later in the room, as we didn't want to miss any meals at this fabulous restaurant, which is only open for lunch! Beautiful view. Staff efficient and very friendly. Where to start on the food choices?? Everything was great. Shrimp Remoulade --... More

The seafood bisque was very creamy and rich, and packed with seafood - delicious. LOVED the seafood eggplant casserole (recommended by the guy who was clearing tables). We enjoyed it so much that we went back a few days later and had the crawfish etouffee -- heaven! This is the kind of food that I've missed so much since moving... More

We went to Rip Van Winkle Gardens on a group travel and scheduled lunch while there. The restaurant is situated overlooking a beautiful lake and adjacent to the gardens. A lovely place to visit and spend some leisure time.

We went to Rip Van Winkle Gardens and Cafe on Saturday, 09/23/16. We did not get to walk through the gardens on this visit, but we did eat at the cafe. We requested to sit outside and the view was absolutely beautiful! There is a good selection of menu items and the prices were reasonable. I look forward to visiting... More

If you're within 100 miles of this spot, you MUST see it. It's either haunted or charmed or both. I'm moved deeply each time I visit. Get the gumbo and walk the grounds. Read the concrete plackards to understand the history. Hope to be married here one day. My favorite place in Louisiana.

This is a great lunch location. The menu is not extensive, but the food is very good. This restaurant has large windows and the views are spectacular. The wait staff are very friendly. If you haven't toured Jefferson Island plan on doing this before or after lunch.

I was raised in south Louisiana and yet had never been to Jefferson Island. When visiting family recently we stopped to tour the beautiful home and gardens and my sister raved about the restaurant on the grounds. I thought it may be a bit touristy and therefore the food would suffer but I was totally wrong. It was delicious! I... More
