We had a wonderful meal there for a birthday celebration, they have a daily menu so dishes can change. We had the game pie with a pumpkin and goats cheese lasagne, the food was really well presented with great flavours, it was a real treat,...More

Our third visit this year and their offering continues to be consistently good. This time their cheese soufflé starter impressed whilst the game pie was good but lacking in plentiful chunks of delicious meat. Monkfish remains a star. Evening service is friendly and attentive but...More

Went for a Sunday lunch with family. The food was average but we found the noise level to be very loud and meant we could not have a conversation with out shouting at each other. There were out 4 groups in the dining area and...More

Our second visit to this lovely pub. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food is absolutely delicious, and we were able to get our favourite Rose wine. We will definitely return on our next visit to Old Basing. Let it be soon!

My mother and I stopped here for a meal on the way to a funeral. I'd been here many years before so was pleased that other than the main road now running behind it instead of in front nothing has changed a lot. Still friendly...More

Came here last month for my birthday with my dad and enjoyed a beef roast. Everything was great, although I can't say I was keen on the braised greens. They didn't really taste of anything. Otherwise, everything else was great. The pub itself is very...More

Passed by often but never been before. Just off the Alton road so handy meeting point for 3 couples to lunch. Not a huge menu to choose from but enough dishes to satisfy our differing tastes. We had a range of food from omelette to...More

Description
Award winning independent family owned free house. Daily changing menu cooked with local ingredients when available. We are able to source world award winning cheese, lamb, eggs and game when in season from our village. We have four real ale pumps and sell at least two local ales. We have a large wine list, many served by the glass and an extensive Gin & Whisky offering. The building is Victorian with huge windows and high ceilings and heated by two log burners throughout winter, for the summer we have a large garden with patio area seating .
