We used to visit here regularly for Sunday lunch but had not been here for 18 months as our previous visit was disappointing, unfortunately this one was no better. We arrived just an hour and a half after they started serving food and they had already sold out of the roast meats except for the chicken. The four of us... More

What a shame as this used to be such a lovely place to take the family out for lunch/dinner. The food seems to be as good as it's always been but the portions are getting smaller? Sunday lunch is lovely, but make sure you get in early because on a few occasions we been they've run out!? We also have... More

I've visited the alma arms a few times and I love the environment there... it's very quiet, so good for visits with friends and family... I also appreciate that there are no under 14s... overall the food is pretty good too...

Food was at best poor , Things have really gone down the pan. The waitress worked so hard in trying to ensure a... More

Well I thought I'd pay a visit to the quaint alma arms for a spot of lunch again today. Lovely, cozy atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff at all times, even when there's loads of people crowding the bar to order, they temson calm, smiley and professional so no fault there...but! I would NOT recommend the lighter lunches,ie: baguettes, ploughman's and the like. I... More

Well what a lovely old fashioned pub, again this pub is very local to me. It is a beautiful setting with beams and brickwork, mainly older clientele but very pleasant. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the only disappointment for me was the ploughman's that I ordered, although tasty there wasn't a lot of it and I didn't feel it was worth the £5.95... More

We have attended the Alma for over 15 years on and off! On our recent visit we had the sunday lunch and were very disappointed, the carrots and swede were hard, the teaspoonful of cabbage was inedible and i couldn,t tell if my lamb was beef or lamb, there was a slight curry taste to it also. I will not... More

Restaurant not busy yet had to wait a really long time for food, just about to enquire if it was actually coming out! No napkins just a pile of screwed up used ones laying around near cutlery, so not very hygienic. The food was ok, not how I had remembered it from many years ago but had to change my... More
