A special place for anniversaries or special days. Everything here is wonderful. The atmosphere, the staff, and of course THAT FOOD!

For business lunches, girlfriend cocktails, or a romantic dinner, Dakotas has it all. A long time NorthShore tradition. Kenny and Kim keep things fresh to keep you coming back. The recent addition of small plates and a Friday Happy Hour helps introduce new foodies to The Dakota. The service can't be touched, the staff is first rate, the great management... More

Love the Bree soup, grilled oysters and steaks. All the food is good, just a bit pricey. Bar is great! They could easily draw a bar crowd if they wanted the business. The bar area is spacious and beautiful.

Dakota is beautiful restaurant that features fine dining. Great wine list. Great bar. Menu changes regularly. They have great seafood and steaks. We always enjoy dining here.

We felt the menu was limited for such a prime foodie area, and thought the portions were a bit small for the price ratio, and we thought the tastes were different but not particularly special. the Charred Caesar, Crab-Brie soup, the Lamb Nachos, the Mirliton Casserole, Bleu Salad and Dessert were good but not something really special.

Thank you for your recent visit to our Restaurant and your opinion. We do pride ourselves on providing our guest with the best Dining experience possible. Based on your review it sounds as if our waitstaff did not properly explain the dishes you ordered were Small Plates or Appetizers and that would explain the portion size, but does not excuse... Dakota's is a little pricey but the food and service are very good. I ordered my filet mignon medium rare but it came back medium well. I would have sent it back but it was still delicious and tender. I believe Dakota's would have taken it back in a second and cooked another to my specifications if I have brought... More

I was taken there last night. Started out with a crab soup, followed with a grilled red snapper and finished with a cocoanut cake. Louisiana cooking at it best. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. It just melted iin your mouth.

They dont like kids. Not friendly. Food is good but if they dont like families with kids , say so. You get a feeling that they dont want you next time. So bye bye. Word is out

Two weeks ago, for an early Valentine’s Day dinner, I took my girlfriend to Dakota Restaurant. Our server, Blaine, recommended a couple of very good white wines and also the Shrimp Napoleon for our appetizer. WOW!!! The Shrimp Napoleon was absolutely stupendous. For entrées, we had the Mixed Grill (Seafood), Crab-Brie Soup, and Mirliton Casserole. The Mixed Grill and Crab-Brie... More

We went this past Saturday night, as we had not been in years. Excellent atmosphere (they added some snazzy modern art since I was last here). Great place for a special occassion or date nite. Food was very good but nothing so exceptional to put it back on our list to rush back soon. We did find the mirliton casserole... More
